Fred Jackson's role clearly defined to be a third down back

In the wake of Marshawn Lynch's early exit and subsequent uncertainty for Monday night's game against Detroit, Fred Jackson and Thomas Rawls are in the spotlight. Head coach Pete Carroll said that ''We're trying to develop these guys and develop their roles a little bit and we were excited to see Thomas and know that Fred is going to be a third-down guy for us and we covet what he can do there,'' (Fox Sports)

Fantasy Impact:

Jackson's arrival in Seattle brought uncertainty for his fantasy value, but it appears, at least for the moment, that he should be on the bottom of the totem pole for fantasy owners. Seattle is a team that likes to run, and run play action to throw intermediate and deep passes. Their offense under Pete Carroll and Darrell Bevell has rarely heavily featured a running back as a receiver, so Thomas Rawls is the Seattle RB backup to own, not Jackson.
