Nick Foles, Rams hand Cardinals first loss of season

by Eric Snyder | Mon, Oct 5th 10:29am EDT

Nick Foles went 16-of-24 passing for 171 yards and three TDs in the Rams 24-22 win in Arizona. It was the second divisional opponent St. Louis has defeated this season, and Foles played his best in both those games. Against a tough defense, he stood tall in the pocket and delivered some beautiful throws downfield, showing off his big time arm and deft touch. His TDs went to Tavon Austin (2) and Stedman Bailey.

Fantasy Impact:

Foles, like the entire Rams team, is about as mind-boggling and inconsistent as they come for fantasy purposes. He has great games against tough opponents, but against favorable match-ups on paper, he struggles. The best thing for the Rams is the emergence of Todd Gurley, who should immensely help take some pressure off Foles to solely move the offense. Through the first quarter of the year, Foles has played well enough to merit QB2 status.
