Kyle Rudolph being used more as a blocker than a pass catcher so far

by Kevin C. Wilson | Wed, Oct 7th 11:33pm EDT

With Adrian Petersen back and the offensive line missing two starters, tight end Kyle Rudolph has been used primarily as a blocker so far this season. And although his fantasy owners don't like to hear that, it comes as no surprise to him. "As a tight end, there can be so many different responsibilities outside of just catching the ball," Rudolph said. "Even though it seems like everybody on the outside only bases our success on receptions." (StarTribune)

Fantasy Impact:

If the last two games are any indication of how Rudolph will be used in the offense going forward, his fantasy owners might want to jump ship now. Rudolph has been utilized mainly as a blocker which has resulted in a total of just four catches for 21 yards in the last two games. While he still has value as a red zone option, Rudolph is no longer a reliable TE1 and is droppable in some leagues during his Week 5 bye.
