James Starks starts and gets 96 total yards.

Even though James Starks was named the starter last week, nobody expected Eddie Lacy to be ruled inactive before Sunday's game vs. the Lions, leaving the workhorse duties solely to Starks. In the role, James Starks had a quiet day on the ground, carrying the ball 15 times for 42 yards. Most of his damage was done through the air, catching 6 passes for 54 yards, mainly on screens.

Fantasy Impact:

James Starks performed reasonably well as a RB2 or flex play this week if you started him. Expect more confusion and frustration going forward from the Green Bay backfield. Eddie Lacy is not simply going away. Many speculate the only reason McCarthy named Starks the starter was to motivate Lacy. When both are healthy, carries in this backfield will be split close to 50/50 between Starks and Lacy, with Lacy getting most of the goal-line carries. Unless Lacy suffers a long-term injury, Starks will remain a RB3 or flex play. Make no mistake, the Packers brass wants this to be Lacy's job.
