Marshawn Lynch to see doctor for abdominal injury, may miss extended time

by John Trupin | Mon, Nov 23rd 9:19am EST

Following the Seahawks' Week 11 win over San Francisco, coach Pete Carroll said Lynch would see a specialist in Philadelphia while the team prepared for their matchup against the Steelers next Sunday. The fear is that Lynch is suffering from a sports hernia. If Lynch is required to have surgery, he will likely miss the rest of the regular season, leaving Thomas Rawls and Fred Jackson to hold down Seattle's backfield. (CBS Sports)

Fantasy Impact:

Lynch has had a frustrating season for fantasy owners, and this news, combined with Thomas Rawls's emergence, is sour icing on the foul-tasting cake. While Lynch should certainly not be dropped until there is more information, Lynch's time as an unchallenged No. 1 RB seems to have faded.
