Alex Smith helps lead Chiefs to Wild Card win over Texans

by Brad Richter | Sun, Jan 10th 9:39am EST

Smith completed 17-of-22 passes (77.3 percent) for 190 yards in the Chiefs 30-0 blowout victory over the Texans in their Wild Card matchup. Smith threw one touchdown pass from 9 yards out in the third quarter to wide receiver Chris Conley. Smith also ran the ball five times for 27 yards.

Fantasy Impact:

Another typical day from Smith and the Chiefs offense. Smith was limited to under 200 yards for the sixth straight game. The Chiefs will travel to New England to face the Patriots in the Divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday. Smith and the Chiefs passing game may need to come out of their shell and put up a big game to overtake the Patriots. Unfortunately, they may need to do it without their top wide receiver, Jeremy Maclin. Smith could be a good low-owned quarterback pick in DFS next weekend.
