Broncos' defense has a field day, Von Miller wins Super Bowl MVP

Von Miller had six tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defended in the Broncos' 24-10 victory over the Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Miller was also named Super Bowl MVP.

Fantasy Impact:

It's official: defense still wins championships. The Panthers came into Sunday as the NFL's number-one scoring offense (averaging 31.25 PPG during the regular season and 40.0 PPG during the postseason), led by recently-crowned NFL MVP QB Cam Newton. But Denver's defense was up to the challenge, forcing four turnovers, scoring the game's first touchdown, sacking Newton seven times and also keeping him out of the endzone-- something that never happened this season. Leading the charge for Denver was Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, whose two forced fumbles directly led to both Denver TDs. It was a fitting conclusion for a defense that carried that Broncos all season long. Once the Broncos finish celebrating and start thinking about next season, locking up Miller via franchise tag or long-term contract will be a top priority.
