Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will be playing the 2016 season 15 pounds lighter than the previous year. Roethlisberger appears to have shed the weight during an offseason cardio plan, in effect, because the quarterback is healthy enough take part in a "more rigorous" offseason training program that in years past was unable to participate in. Fantasy Impact:

Ben Roethlisberger is entering his 13th season in the NFL with the hopes of playing lighter will turn him into a more durable player at the age of 34. Roethlisberger was hampered by injury in 2015 and only appeared in 12 games. He finished the season with 3,938 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Roethlisberger is considered a mid-range QB1 in fantasy football but could ultimately wind up in the top 5 in scoring among players at his position if he plays a full 16 game slate despite the absence of play maker Martavis Bryant, who is serving a one-year ban from the league.
