Johnny Manziel required to appear in court May 5; bond set at $1,500

by Jonathan Ebanks | Wed, Apr 27th 2:00pm EDT

After former Browns QB Johnny Manziel was indicted on a misdemeanor assault charge, a judge in Dallas has now ordered Manziel to show up in court on May 5 and has set Manziel's bond at $1,500. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Judge Roberto Canas will explain to the terms of the bond to Manziel on May 5 and is okay with Manziel turning himself in to Texas authorities sometime next week. The terms of the bond are that Manziel must stay away from his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, and that he can't have a gun. The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner from Texas A&M was accused by Crowley of hitting her and threatening to kill her on Jan. 30. If Ray Rice can't make his way back to the NFL after nothing but exceptional behavior and public stances against domestic violence since his scandal, then Manziel has an even bleaker outlook on his NFL future.
