Mackensie Alexander

Mackensie Alexander picked up by Vikings at #54

by Aaron Martinuzzi | Fri, Apr 29th 9:05pm EDT

The Minnesota Vikings have selected Clemson cornerback McKenzie Alexander with the 23rd pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft.

Fantasy Impact:

After selecting Trae Waynes in the first round of the 2015 draft, the Vikings chose to add another high draft pick to their secondary with Alexander. In a passing league, and especially in the NFC North, facing quarterbacks like Matt Stafford and Aaron Rodgers on a regular basis, the Vikings have done well to shore up their defensive backfield. While Alexander failed to pick up any interceptions in his career, and is regarded as undersized at 5'10", 190 lbs., he nevertheless displayed excellent coverage skills, notably shutting down Texans' first round WR Will Fuller last fall.
