Kirk Cousins: If I don't play well next season, I don't deserve to be back

During an interview on Monday, Redskins QB Kirk Cousins on "Grant and Danny" on 106.7 The Fan said, "if I don’t play well next season, I don’t deserve to be back. I don’t deserve a long-term deal." (Pro Football Talk)
Fantasy Impact:
There is certainly a chance that a long-term deal between the Redskins and Cousins gets worked out by July 15, but Cousins seems to understand why the Redskins are hesitant (and unlikely) to offer him a lucrative long-term deal this summer. The Redskins did draft WR Josh Doctson in the first round, so Cousins will have another weapon to help him prove his worth to the organization this season.
