La'el Collins to miss extended time with injury

Dallas Cowboys OL La'el Collins (foot) is expected to miss 6-to-10 weeks of football activities with a torn ligament in his foot suffered during Week 3. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that a second opinion will determine if Collins would need to undergo surgery to repair the ailment that could keep him out of action for the entire season. Fantasy Impact:

Collins is one of the anchors on Dallas' elite offensive line. The good news is that the Cowboys have depth at the position that will likely be filled by Ronald Leary, who requested a trade in the preseason but the team declined to grant the petition. If Collins does not need surgery, he could return to the team in time for a December postseason run.
