Linebacker Akeem Dent didn't practice this week, and has been formally ruled out for Week 8 against the Titans.

Fantasy Impact

The linebacker is dealing with a hamstring injury. With Bernardrick McKinney also out, it leaves the Texans very thin at the linebacker position. Dent hasn't played a massive role this season, but did provide solid depth for the Texans during the second half in 2014.

After dealing with an ankle injury this offseason, Akeem Dent was activated from the PUP list the same day as teammate Jadeveon Clowney. Dent started seven games at linebacker for the Houston Texans last season.

Fantasy Impact

Dent provides quality run support at linebacker for the Texans. Last season, Dent had 27 tackles (six TFL), six quarterback hits, and registered one sack.

The Texans are expected to make more cuts this week on the way to Saturday's deadline to narrow the roster to 53 players. Travis O'Quinn of SI.com believes former Atlanta Falcon Akeem Dent may be on the roster bubble.

Fantasy Impact

O'Quinn projects Justin Tuggle, former Jet Quinten Groves and rookie Max Bullough to make the final roster. Dent has not stood out this preseason and did not figure to be a fantasy option.
