Cecil Shorts will return from his hamstring injury and start for the Jaguars today against the Colts. (Source: Jaguars.com)

Fantasy Impact: Shorts missed the first 2 weeks with a hamstring injury, but his return is timely as Marqise Lee is out today with a hamstring injury of his own. Shorts will likely be targeted often as the Jaguars have not had any success running the ball and the matchup today against the Colts should be a shootout.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts is officially listed as doubtful for the Jags' Week 2 match-up against the Eagles. (Source: Hays Carlyon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Cecil Shorts injured his hamstring a little over a week ago in practice which caused him to miss Week 1. While many thought Shorts would at least attempt to test his injured hammy today, he ended up not practicing at all. Don't look for Shorts to be suited up in Week 2. As of right now, Shorts' prospects of playing in the immediate future seem very slim.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) did not have a setback in practice on Wednesday, but he will not practice today (Thursday). (Source: Hays Carlyon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Cecil Shorts sat out Week 1 with a hamstring injury and has been plagued by lower-extremity injuries for the past few months. The Jags' will probably see if he can practice in any capacity on Friday, but he should still be considered highly questionable for Sunday when Jacksonville plays Washington. In the meantime, Shorts' fantasy owners need to continue to look elsewhere until he can show some sort of resemblance of health.

Receiver Cecil Shorts (hamstring) will run tomorrow and that will determine his status for the rest of the week. (Source: Jacksonville.com)

Fantasy Impact: Shorts is in a contract season and was expected to be the leader of a young wide receiver group for the Jaguars, but is once again dealing with an injury. He should be eager to get back on field and prove he is worthy of a new contract. He is likely to be a game time decision so you will want to keep an eye on his status this week.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game in Philadelphia. (Source: John Oehser on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is obviously not good news for Shorts who felt "tightness" in his hamstring in practice on Thursday. He missed significant time in training camp and the preseason with a sore hamstring, and will now miss the season opener with a separate hamstring issue. Rookie wide receivers Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns, and Allen Robinson will now likely be the Jags' starting trio on Sunday with Mike Brown getting some looks as well. Hopefully Shorts just misses Week 1, but we do not have a timeframe yet for his return.

Fantasy Impact: Cecil Shorts' hamstring "tightened up" on him in practice on Thursday while he was running. Unfortunately, this is the second hamstring issue Shorts has suffered inside of the last month and a half. There is still a chance Cecil Shorts plays against the Eagles, but if you were planning to start him in any of your leagues, it may be wise to come up with an alternate plan before Sunday. Keep monitoring the situation closely.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts felt some tightness in his hamstring today in practice. As a precaution, the team "shut him down" for the rest of practice. (Source: Mark Long - Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Multiple reports out of Jags' camp today indicated that Cecil Shorts felt some tightness in his hamstring "right as he ran." However, HC Gus Bradley said after practice, "he doesn't think Shorts' hamstring is anything serious." Cecil Shorts missed July 26th - August 16th with a sore hamstring and also missed some of OTAs with a calf injury. The team has a history with being very careful with injuries of Shorts' nature, but with his recent hamstring/calf injuries, any small flair-up should not be discredited. Cecil Shorts is the Jaguars number one wide receiver heading in to the season and could winding up being a really nice value in fantasy, provided he stays healthy. Hopefully Shorts' hamstring is "no big deal" and he'll be close to 100% come Sunday.

Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts will play about 15 plays in his preseason debut tonight against the Lions, coach Gus Bradley told the Florida Times-Union. Shorts' right hamstring injury has kept him sidelined since the opening day of training camp. (Source: Florida-Times Union)

Fantasy Impact: Even in a limited role, its a good sign that Shorts is able to get on the field tonight to work off some rust and build some chemistry with Chad Henne & Blake Bortles. With the injury that has kept him out of action and the uncertainty of the QB position for the Jaguars, Shorts ADP has fallen to the later rounds of drafts. The 26 year old receiver is entering a contract year and is clearly the No. 1 wide receiver in Jacksonville so I would target him in the 10th or 11th round as a great value pick.

Cecil Shorts participated in 11-on-11 drills with the first team offense on Sunday after missing a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. (Source: Michael DiRocco - ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Cecil Shorts returning to practice is a welcome sign for Jaguars fans and fantasy owners alike. Shorts' hamstring injury has bogged down his ADP and he's currently going in the 11th round. His ADP should rise once he becomes a regular participant in practice and the news surrounding him stays positive. He could be a really nice value given his cheap cost; Shorts is ranked as FantasyPros consensus WR39.

Fantasy Impact: This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to Jags fans or Cecil Shorts owners. The team has made it very clear that they wanted to take it slow with Cecil's return. They need him to be 100% healthy for the season. There is still no timetable for his return.

Cecil Shorts -- the only proven receiver on the roster -- is going to be out for at least two weeks with a grade two right hamstring strain. It’s the latest in a string of injuries that have cost the fourth-year player 11 games in his first three seasons. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Second-round picks Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson are already working with the first unit at training camp and both have a great opportunity to start on opening day. With Shorts' injury history, either Lee or Robinson could quickly become Bortles go-to receiver.

The injury and status clipboard isn't too messy in Week 1, maybe the only time we'll say that all season. Let's get to it. Quarterbacks • Cam Newton (ribs) was able to practice in full Friday, though he's nonetheless considered questionable for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. Head coach Ron Rivera is calling Newton a game-time decision. To make matters as tricky as possible, Carolina plays i...
