Longtime Philadelphia Eagles DT Fletcher Cox announced his retirement from the NFL via social media, ending a 12-year pro career.

At the age of 33, Cox is announcing he is stepping away from the sport. This move wasn't fully unexpected, as the Eagles' have been forming their contingency plan for his eventual departure with DTs Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. Cox had four All-Pro nods in a five-year span, six Pro Bowl appearances, 70 sacks, 173 QB hits and 88 tackles for loss.
