Toby Gerhart (sports hernia) sent to season-ending IR

Since signing a 3-year deal in 2014, Gerhart has proved to be ineffective for the Jags.

Fantasy Impact

He is owed over $3M for next season. Look for the jags to cut him loose this offseason.

Toby Gerhart stuffed four times in a row at goal-line

Gerhart carried six times for eight yards Week 7 against the Bills.

Fantasy Impact

Despite being given the opportunity as the short yardage back, Gerhart turned in the most memorable and embarassing performance on the Yahoo! livestream debut. Gerhart lost any chance he had a meaningful NFL career after this performance as he could not find any room against a tough Bills defense. T.J. Yeldon should be the guy going forward. Go ahead and delete any hopes you might have of Gerhart's fantasy relevance from your memory.

Toby Gerhart ineffective in Week 6 loss

Toby Gerhart carried the ball nine times for only 26 yards and received four targets for three catches for 23 yards in the Week 6 loss.

Fantasy Impact

Gerhart's longest run was six yards on the ground and failed to get anything going. With T.J. Yeldon out I would hesitate to start any other Jaguars RB.

Toby Gerhart loses yardage in single carry

Toby Gerhart rushed for -2 yards on one attempt on Sunday against the Colts.

Fantasy Impact

Toby Gerhart, once a productive (if not particularly flashy) backup for both the Vikings and Jaguars, is now rarely used. Gerhart is solidly behind T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson on the depth chart, and is not relevant in any fantasy format unless both of those players are injured (which currently only Robinson is).

Toby Gerhart (abdomen) probable for Week 3

Gerhart practiced in full Thursday and Friday and likely will be a go on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Gerhart will likely see his first action of the season. Expect Gerhart to primarily serve as a short-yardage specialist, which makes him a candidate to vulture a score away from T.J. Yeldon. Nevertheless, he should not be in your starting lineup on Sunday, regardless of format.
