Breaking Football | Jul 30th
With another dreadful season in the books for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they enter 2014 with a stopgap running back in Toby Gerhart and quarterback of the future and third overall pick in this year’s draft, Blake Bortles. Sadly, 2014 will be yet another forgetful season for Jaguar fans. To put just how dreadful into fantasy perspective, Gerhart and wide receiver, Cecil Shorts, are their only...

It took me a while, but supporting cast and offseason conversation have me finally buying the 300 touch hype.
FFLockerRoom | Jul 30th
Gerhart is now a Jaguar and should get his chance to officially run the show. The GM said that Toby could see between 250-300 touches this season. If that happens, he should crack the top 20 for sure. IF that happens.

Am I the only one that buys into the bruising Gerhart being an effective poor man's Marshawn Lynch? Fine by me, I guess.

Build and skill set suits the workhorse role he should play in the Jags run-heavy system.

#457592989 / gettyimages.com When Gus Bradley left Seattle to become the Jaguars head coach, he could not have envisioned the Jaguars ranking in the bottom five in rush attempts as they did last year. That ranking was a by-product of two primary factors: (1) the team trailed — and lost — often and (2) their rushing attack was inefficient. Beginning the year with an eight-game losi...

Toby Gerhart is a perplexing fantasy asset, on one hand he seems to be in line to be an every-down workhorse for the Jaguars, on the other hand however Gerhart is a middling talent on a team that will be trailing in many games limiting his weekly carries. Gerhart may also lose his job to a free agent addition or even rookie Storm Johnson. Gerhart is no more than an RB3 in standard leagues but is a RB2 option in PPR formats.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a plan. It’s called Toby Gerhart. The team continued it’s complete rebuild on both sides of the ball this offseason, with the signing of former Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart being arguably the biggest. Per head coach Gus Bradley, Gerhart gives them a true “workhorse back” that can handle “20-25 touches” per game. Bradl...

Toby Gerhart won't wow you with his speed, but he's got a big-time opportunity in Jacksonville. Our Dave Richard shares a dozen players he is expecting big things from in 2014.
Lesters Legends | Jul 16th
. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart is going from one of the best backup running backs in the leagues to a starter. Does he have what it takes to be a fantasy football starter?. It is hard to fully trust a running back that has averaged just 69 carries per season, but he has delivered when given the chance. Now that he’s the lead back, expect him to be a player recommended by th...
Fantasy Football Maniax | Jul 15th
I don't think Gerhart is a talented runner and the Jags terribly overpaid for his services, but if he sees 250-300 carries as the Jaguars are projecting, he's going to finish among the Top 25 fantasy running backs. His lack of speed and playing on a bad team significantly handicap his upside.

The 2014 Fantasy Football season is coming. July is quickly approaching and soon minicamps and preseason games will flood your every thought. That gives you only about two months (if that) to decide whether Toby Gerhart is worth drafting as a starting running back in fantasy football this year. The logic suggests he is. He was minimally used with the Minnesota Vikings behind the legendary Adrian P...

A couple weeks ago I wrote about Chris Johnson and what I expected from the running back with his new squad, the Jets. Today I turn my attention to another running back that changed teams in the offseason, Toby Gerhart. The hard charging runner was often glued to the bench with the Vikings serving as […]
