Solid flex option, worry usage could go down if Thompkins and Dobson take looks on outside and Amendola somehow stays healthy in slot
Easily the most talented receiver on the roster, could post 10+ TD's

Jon Collins
Fantasy Sports LR
In theory, the development of the rest of the receiving corps and the presumed good health of Gronkowski cuts into Edelman's top10 target load, but can only drop him so far after impressive, reliable, durable 2013.
Dobson looked to be in game shape his game 4 preseason tune up. He may not start outside Week 1 (he still may, mind you) but he should take the job shortly and there are plenty of targets available.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
PPR machine. He's the new Wes Welker and only injury will make that stop.
Has a very high ceiling both in terms of talent and his offense. Can he put it all together in year two?

Tom Schriner
FFLockerRoom
Re-Signed with the Patriots for 4-years $17 million. Coming off a career year where he posted 105 receptions for 1,056 yards and 4 touchdowns. It's a much better deal for the Pats than their 5-year, $28.5 million commitment to Danny Amendola appears through one season. Amendola is locked into a roster spot for 2014, but the Patriots could save $2.1 million in salary cap space by releasing him next offseason. The Edelman deal magnifies that 2015 is a make-or-break year for Amendola in New England.
Dobson is expected to open the season as the starter for the Patriots opposite Julian Edelman, but he has to prove he’s healthy first after foot surgery in March. As a rookie in 2013, Dobson had 37 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns. He had 3 games with double digits in standard Fantasy points and 3 games with double digits in targets. Dobson has a lot of potential as the top outside threat for New England, and he’s a nice sleeper coming into the year.

Sablich Brothers
The NY Times
Outstanding preseason. Clearly Brady's number one wideout.
Solid breakout candidate for 2014 health permitting (surgery on foot in March, fracture).

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Edelman emerged as a big target in the Patriots offense, finishing the season with 105 receptions for 1,056 yards and six receiving touchdowns. He is the Patriots receiver to own right now, but will probably not see as many targets as he did a year ago.
Dobson has the potential to emerge as the WR2 and deep threat in the Patriots offense this season, playing with future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady.

Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
There are a lot of choices in New England, but injuries left Edelman as the de facto choice last season and he shined in PPR leagues.

Pat Fitzmaurice
The Football Girl
Numbers will fall off if Gronk, Dobson, Amendola stay healthy.
There's potential for a big payoff, but foot issues could nix a breakthrough.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
A lot of Edelman’s success last year came from being the only legit option in New England. In 2013 TE Gronkowski missed 13 games, RB Vereen missed 8 games, WR Amendola missed 4 games, WR Dobson missed 4 games and WR Thompkins missed 4 games – that’s a lot of Targets gone for Tom Brady. Edelman was Tom Brady’s only consistent WR which resulted in his 1000+ yard season. With everyone back this year, Edelman will have a hard time receiving the 151 Targets he received in 2013. He’s still a High-End WR3 with WR2 upside in a New England Offense that has had their trouble with injured players.

James Hatfield
Hatty Waiver Wire Guru
PPR monster on the Patriots. He showed that he can be the reliable option for Brady and he will find a way to post a ton of receptions, 1,000+ yards and near double digit TDs.
