Update 9/5: Ellington sat out Thursday's practice with a foot injury. With this starting time, it's probably worth adding Jonathan Dwyer in case he can't go.

Davis wasn't a high overall TE for us, but this week vs DAL you want him in your lineup.

The Chargers were a respectable 11th against fantasy backs, but Ellington's big play ability makes him a threat on any carry or reception. He is a game time decision on a Monday Night Game, so you will need to own Jonathan Dwyer if you plan on starting Ellington.

- Derek Lofland, Fantasy Football Maniax

Dallas was the fourth worst fantasy tight end defense, so expect Vernon Davis to have a big game in the opener.

- Derek Lofland, Fantasy Football Maniax

Was at RB11 until injury news. Placing him here is hedging bets due to Monday start.

- John Halpin, Fox Sports

Foot injury could keep him out for week one and possibly a lot longer.

- Kevin Roberts, Breaking Football

Matchup is absolutely killer but Davis doesn't see a ton of targets in conservative Niners offense.

*Falling Star* - And the story line continues. ESPN's Schefter and Mortensen both state that the vibe around Arizona is very negative on the Ellington injury and his status for MNF. Even if he does start it will take a lot for him to produce as a top RB in Week 1. Replace him with a safer option if you can. If you don't ENSURE that you have a last minute option replacement just in case he is ruled OUT.

Any offensive player against the very weak Dallas defense is a good play unless the defense proves otherwise.
