The Jets are terrible for the most part. But for some reason I have reservations against Martin in New York. The defense still holds a lot of pride and will do everything they can to limit Martin.
San Diego's defense was better than most people realize in 2012. Foster may not have the best game, and could be a tad rusty after not getting much work during the preseason.

Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
MUSCLE HAMSTER. Martin does a little bit of everything, and he won't be losing carries to Peyton Hillis, so don't worry about that.
Foster was worked hard in 2012, leading the league with 351 carries. The Texans will be looking to decrease his workload this season, but he's still a near lock for 1,300+ yards and 10+ touchdowns. Not to mention his effectiveness in the passing game.

Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
More talent in backfield this year than last; Mike James should see snaps, Hillis could vulture some goal line touches
I would draft Foster before Martin but always worry about the equally as talented Ben Tate and now legit 2nd option in passing game in DeAndre

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
The same logic I used with Charles applies to Martin. The Jets were 25th against fantasy running backs last year and the Jets offense is not good enough to turn this game into a blowout. Martin should see a ton of touches this week.
We'll find out soon enough if this offseason was an overreaction to Foster's back and calf problems. He hasn't carried the ball once this preseason and while I think he is too good to sit this week, I am not sure he has a Top 10 game against a Chargers D that was 13th against fantasy backs.

Not expected to see a full workload.

Teach me how to Douggie has an opportunity to take his game to the next level. Josh Freeman had the Bucs offense clicking like the #1 Scoring offense for a good stretch of the 2012 season, and now he is in a contract year. The Bucs are a great darkhorse to win the Superbowl, Doug will be a big reason why. Peyton Hillis ...
Arian took too many carries last season, the Texans offense was not as automatic as it was in the past, and the defense was banged up. This season, it is now or never for this Texans squad. Arian is 100% healthy and should be more effective than he was in 2012.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
TB has the 5th ranked offensive line - allowing the third fewest sacks and ranked 11th in YPC at 4.42 yards. Unless you were locked in a Russian Prison last year, itís obvious that the entire fantasy football world knows about Doug Martin. TB Coach Greg Schiano said he would like to involve Martin in the passing game more and that he could see him reaching 2,000 total yards in 2013. If thatís the case, heís going to be your best friend for about 17 weeks.
Foster has not practiced since the end of May due to lingering back and calf issues. There is no denying an Arian Foster type talent, but the rushing attempts of 327 (2010), 278 (2011) and 351 (2012) have taken an obvious toll on his health. Continue to monitor his injury status deep into the pre-season as we are all sure to learn more as the season is set to begin. Foster could take a slide back if he continues to miss time.

Jon Collins
Fantasy Sports LR

Stands to reason that Foster sees a curtailed work load in the early going, with Tate picking up more of the slack in week one, given his limited preseason slate.

Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Football Empire
Doug Martin is expected to play on third downs this season which only boosts his overall fantasy value each week. And the New York Jets gave up the 9th most fantasy points to Running Backs last season.

Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
The Jets have a tough defense, but their lack of offense gave opponents plenty of chances to run the ball and wear their defense down. That doesn't look like it will change much this season. Look for Martin to get plenty of touches both in the run and receiving game.
San Diego was tough on running backs last season giving up just 83 yards per game. Add that to the fact that Foster most likely won't get a full work load after not playing in the preseason and you have a scary proposition for a top tier play.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Jets struggled against run last year and Bucs will probably have to run to win, so Martin should be pretty busy.
Word is he'll be eased in, so not sure I trust him as a usual RB1 this week.

KJ
Fantasy Team Advice

Foster is expected to split carries with Ben Tate in week 1. We aren't as high as most on him for this week
