Buffalo has flirted with a few backs this season, but I view that as more an intention to replace Fred Jackson (long term) than I do to take opportunities from Spiller.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Lacy is a beast and his role will only grow in year two. Hopefully his punishing running style doesn't come back to bite him.
Spiller is a freak but due to health issues his role will have to change. That doesn't mean he's suddenly a scrub, though.

Tom Schriner
FFLockerRoom
Barring the dreaded sophomore slump, Lacy should be a near lock to finish as a top ten back in fantasy. He was a stud last year and the Packers will want to run more now that they have the back who can handle the load. Don't expect a big increase in receptions, but 300+ carries is within reach.
I'm still a huge believer in C.J. and hopefully this is the year he pays off for his owners. But Fred Jackson is lurking and still proved to be a valuable player on the field.

Smitty
Fantasy Football Starters
Lacy could have a top 2-4RB season this year, he is a very safe pick right after the big 3RBs (Peterson, Charles and McCoy) are gone. No question!
Huge injury concerns, lots of upside outside of the top 30 overall. Is the risk built into the investment? Probably.

Pat Fitzmaurice
The Football Girl
Modern-day Earl Campbell could score 15 TDs, but he takes a LOT of hits.
A high-risk, high-reward pick. I'm willing to make a substantial bet on his talent.

Brandon Funston
Yahoo! Sports
Subpar numbers vs. SEA in W1 not a surprise, but concussion, O line injuries and strong effort from backup Starks hurts stock
Unfortunately, looking at another season of F-Jax stealing goal-line and passing down work

James Hatfield
Hatty Waiver Wire Guru
He had a monster rookie campaign; he runs so tough and has a ton of burst. Lacy's upside is amazing and he is on an offense that knows how to stay on the field.
He didn't find the end-zone enough last year and has been battling with injuries. He has incredible upside if you are willing to gamble but make sure you have some back-up options.

Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Football Empire
Played on 60.5 percent of the snaps as a rookie. Had 1,435 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Look for Green Bay to go with a more balanced attack on office, which will benefit Eddie Lacy in 2014. Lacy is also expected to be more involved in 3rd down situations. Look for 300 rush attempts and 40-50 receptions.

Sablich Brothers
The NY Times
300+ carry candidate as the Pack want to rely less on Rodgers's arm in 2014.
Is doomed to share with Jackson forever, and will not be in goal line packages.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
The new buzz around the Fantasy World is that the Packers want to run 75 plays a game this season. The Denver Broncos led the league last year at 72.1 plays per game and we all know the fantasy production out of that team. Lacy totaled a whopping 284 caries last season while catching the ball 35 times on 44 targets, however, they want to substitute him as little as possible in order to keep their fast-paced offense. If Rodgers is able to play an entire season the Packers wonít have to rely nearly as much on Lacy. In fact, Lacy still has plenty of room to grow in terms of YPC and Receptions. Green Bay plays only 4 Teams inside the Top 10 against the run this season (Seattle, Detroit, Carolina, New Orleans) Ė expect at least 1100+ yard season and 10+ TDís out of Lacy again this season in Green Bays high powered offense.
Spiller admitted that thereís a big difference in the teams running game with a year of experience under their belt in the new offensive running scheme. With this being said, Bills coaches want Spiller to touch the ball 20 times this season. They said the same last year Ė they wanted him to run until he got sick. With a deep backfield, we donít see this being too realistic. There are two things that limited Spillerís production last season. The first, E.J. Manuel. Manuel struggled mightily last season in every aspect of being an NFL QB. This resulted in the Bills running the ball, a league high 546 times while defenses continued to pack it in. Secondly, Spiller was playing hurt a majority of the season while the Bills continued to throw him in between tackles. Thatís not Spillerís game. He succeeds off of screens, pitches, etc. The Bills need to establish the passing game for a now healthy Spiller to create space in order for him to be more effective.

Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
I love Lacy this year in the up-tempo Green Bay offense. They plan on keeping him on the field on all downs so they can keep the pace up and he will see
Spiller is too good to let slip far on draft day, but he doesn't come without plenty of risk. The offense is a run first offense and Spiller is the lead back. He has the ability to take over a game and put up huge numbers, but also has the ability to tweak something and play hurt for a few weeks.

Usage won't be as high as you want it to, and will likely lose out on a handful of touchdowns to Fred Jackson.

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Lacy looked like the real deal in 2013, finishing his rookie season with 1,435 yards from scrimmage and scoring 11 rushing touchdowns. He should be a lock to finish as a Top 10 running back in 2014. It will be interesting to see how many carries he can rack up on an offense that wants to run 75 offensive plays per game.
I am becoming less of a fan of the Buffalo coaching staff. They have one of the most explosive players in the NFL, but they refuse to give him the ball in space and they seem fascinated with Fred Jackson, Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon. Spiller has the most talent of the running backs on this team, but he is misused on a weekly basis.

Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
Eddie Lacy will get all the touches he can handle as the Packers workhorse and is the last of the top five you will see go off the board before any other position is considered.
CJ Spiller has ton of talent but does not seem capable of being a feature back and will compete for snaps with the ageless Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown who was brought in from Philly. Spiller has more value in PPR formats as the Bills will attempt to utilize Spiller is space to play to his strengths.
