Win My Fantasy League
Stevan Ridley will get a final shot at being the Patriots big back and could be a tremendous value at his current ADP as he has the touchdown and carry potential for solid RB2 numbers if he can curtail his ‘fumblitis’.
Darren McFadden is still a very talented running back with RB1 skills but is a perennial injury risk who will be in a time-share with Maurice Jones-Drew leaving him as an upside RB3 option.

Pat Fitzmaurice
The Football Girl
To draft him is to subject yourself to Bill Belichick's whims.
An obvious injury risk, but he's still a better bet than a washed-up MJD.

Tom Schriner
FFLockerRoom
Rookie James White has been making a lot of noise in New England, lets see if Ridley can squash all of that and show up during the preseason to quell those rumors that he might be losing touches soon.
He'll be back in Oakland on a one-year deal but will be battling veteran stud MJD for playing time.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
It's all about the fumbles. If Rids can take care of the ball, he can return to low-end RB1 production.
McFadden still has talent and upside. He's never healthy and MJD is a problem, though.

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
I still think Ridley will have a chance to fix his fumbling issues and reclaim his job, but even with RB LeGarrette Blount in Pittsburgh, the Patriots could still go with a classic Belichick timeshare.
McFadden surprisingly signed a one-year contract to stay in Oakland. He was limited to 114 carries for 379 yards and five touchdowns in a contract year. He is likely to be the backup to MJD, but it remains to be seen how that timeshare ends up being split.

Staff Rankings
2MugsFF
Appears to be locked into the role he had in 2012 when he finished #10 overall RB. If he can hold onto the football, he'll easily exceed this ranking.

James Hatfield
Hatty Waiver Wire Guru
If he can hold onto the ball he will put up solid numbers. He will play opposite of Shane Vereen on an offense that knows how to move the ball. Ridley will come cheap and I love his upside as my bye week filler and injury spot starter for 2014.
With MJD in the house he will lose most of his upside. He has a lot to prove this year and he could be a RB with upside. He is still a gamble of a pick so make sure he is not one of your starters until he can prove he is worthy.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
Ridley enters into a contract year as he’s in the final year of his rookie deal. Shane Vereen doesn’t pose as too big of a risk to Ridley as Vereen will most likely be featured in the passing game, perhaps filling in the Aaron Hernandez "Move" TE position. The buzz around The Pats have yet to start contract talks with Ridley – word is if he plays well he could be in line for a big contract. Ridley says he’s trying to put his fumbling problems behind him. A lighter and faster Stevan Ridley could be in line for a very productive season behind one of the best Offensive Lines in the NFL. Keep note on Rookie out of Wisconsin, James White, as he looks to steal early down work from Ridley.

Sablich Brothers
The NY Times
Vereen outsnaps him 26-6 in 3rd preseason game.
2nd fiddle to MJD seems likely for the injury prone back who closed out '13 in a backup role.
