Bills are iffy on defense but Pats run well and Ridley is generally reliable.
Decent matchup and you know he'll get the touches.

Sure-fire RB1 upside
Top three back based on raw talent behind AP, S-Jax; should be a ppg monster when healthy

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Ridley should be a Top 10 fantasy back this week playing against a Bills team that allowed the second most fantasy points to running backs and will be starting a rookie UDFA at QB (Jeff Tuel).
McFadden usually is hurt about a month from now, but at least he should help his fantasy owners this week. He plays a Colts D that allowed the 6th most points to fantasy running backs.

Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
Ridley established himself last year as the lead dog in the Patriots' backfield, and he may even be able to improve upon his 1,200-yard output.
Much like with Murray, McFadden is a stud when he's on the field. He just can't seem to get on it consistently enough. He's averaged over 5 yards per carry for his career.

Staff Rankings
FFLockerRoom
While I'm not the biggest Ridley fan, he should no doubt have a good game agains the Bills.
Even against the Colts, I can't seem to rank DMC higher. I need to see something from him before moving him up.

Muntradamus
Beast Dome
Ridley is looking good in camp and is even bigger/stronger than before. No need to worry about LeGarrette Blount or Brandon Bolden stealing the Redzone TDs. Ridley will have a much bigger role in the running game with Aaron Hernandez/Wes Welker out of the equation. The only frustrating thing about Ridley is the few weeks the Patriots play Musical Chairs with their RBs.
McFadden is in a contract season. The Raiders are also working in more of a power run scheme instead of zone, which is perfect for McFadden when he hits that 3rd gear and is already past the Linebackers. Run DMC has to have a special season for the Silver and Black, with all the defensive upgrades this team made. As well as bringing in a good deep ball QB in Matt Flynn. The Raiders mean business.

Sablich Brothers
The New York Times
Ridley posted 204 yards and 3 touchdowns in his 2 meetings with Buffalo last year.

Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
Ridley was as consistent as they come last season and against the Bills he averaged 102 yards rushing and 1.5 touchdowns. The ability of the Patriots to live in the other teams red zone and the Bills perennially poor run defense makes him a no brainer start.
McFadden and the Raiders have looked pretty pitiful this preseason so it's hard to endorse him, but he does get a good matchup against the Colts who gave up over 5 yards a carry and 14 rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs. If you own him you're starting him.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
New England holds the number one ranked offensive line. With a depleted WR corps, Ridley should see an explosion this season as we are sure that New England will rely on a running game that features Ridley and Vareen. In 2012, Ridley had 1,263 rushing yards and 12 TDs. In comparison of Forte and Ridley, Forte will rack up more yards with the combination of rushing and receiving, whereas Ridley will see more end-zone time.
A couple bullet points here … McFadden is in a contract year, always an injury risk and the Raiders are switching up their offensive attack to a power running system. That being said, it leaves us with all kinds of questions marks. To take it one step further, McFadden wasn’t comfortable last season at all in the running game and this will be a back to normal type set. McFadden also turned down early negotiations, looking to show NFL teams and the Raiders that he is in position to call for b...
