The Cowboys want to run the ball more in 2013. While that seems to be a goal every season, the team is always led by Tony Romo who likes to play the poor mans Brett Favre. If D-Train can stay healthy, he would be an absolute Lock for 1,200 Yards and 10 TDs. It is worth the risk to find out as this Cowboys team could put up some serious points if Murray gets going.Vereen is going to have to adjust his role consistency throughout 2013. The Patriots plan on using him as a replacement to Aaron Hernandez a little, and he will steal Fantasy Points away from RIdley every random game. Shane has nice upside this season, but he also has a very low floor. Draft/Wait/See is usually the case for a player like Vereen who can BREAK out.
Jordan Tozzi
Legion Report
So far in pre-season, Dallas has shown dedication to the run game and will continue that trend throughout the season. Health is always an issue for Murray. Should he stay healthy, Murray will offer strong RB2 capabilities. Will line up as RB, Slot-WR and Outside-WR. That being said, Vareen will see touches one way or the other. Look for him to be an X-Factor for the New England Offense and a Legion Report Sleeper! Be prepared for a breakout season.
Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
Murray is a very good running back in a quality offense so when he's healthy you will be starting him. Last season on opening day against the Giants he touched the ball 22 times for 140 yards. He's a must start against a Giants defense who gave up the 25th most yards rushing last year. The Vereen hype is high and for good reason, especially early in the season with Rob Gronkowski out. Vereen will be used all over the field and should see plenty of receiving targets. Add to the fact that the Bills have a ton of trouble against running backs and you have a recipe for fake points.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
An RB1 when healthyTalented back poised for a breakout campaign if he can stay healthy
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Plays well against Giants and at home, so should be OK in week 1.Vereen has the versatility to exploit Bills.
Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
Health is the name of the game here. If Murray can actually stay on the field, he has the ability to lead the league in rushing. Problem is, he's never been able to stay on the field. There's no other worthwhile back on the Dallas roster, though, so the carries are his for the taking. With Aaron Hernandez incarcerated, Vereen may be the guy to assume that role in the offense going forward, and he'll also benefit from the departure of Danny Woodhead.
Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Sports Empire
Shane Vereen (NE at BUF) Buffalo allowed 23 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs at home in 2012 which is the 3rd most last season. I like Vereen even more in points per reception (PPR) leagues.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
The Giants were 15th against fantasy backs last year; the Cowboys inability to run the ball last year is why I have him ranked as a flex play.
