Playing next to Rodgers in the Shotgun - Huge year coming.
Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
The Pack's running back situation is essentially a toss-up at this point, but Lacy clearly has value in short-yardage/goal-line situations. The job is now C.J. Spiller's in Buffalo, but there's room for Jackson to gank some short-yardage TDs every now and then.
Staff Rankings
Fantasy Football Freaks
Pro: He gets the starting gig with DuJuan Harris on IR. Con: Tough schedule, starting with the nearly impenetrable 49ers.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
49ers are elite against run and he's on the road, but Lacy does run hard.Bills will run a ton so you'd imagine F-Jax has a little value here.
Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Sports Empire
Eddy Lacy (GB at SF) - San Francisco gave up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to Running Backs last season. Lacy is going to have a big season for Green Bay, but just not in week in the first 5 weeks of the season. In week 2, Washington gave up the 9th fewest fantasy points to Running Backs last season. In week 3, Cincinnati gave up the 13th fewest fantasy points to Running Backs last season. After a week 4 bye week, in week 5, Detroit gave up the 12th fewest fantasy points to Running Back...
Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
I'm a big fan of Lacy this season and think he has the ability to put up numbers on any defense as long as they are worried about Rodgers and company beating them down field. But of course this is San Francisco at home against a rookie on the road. Lacy's touches may be limited if they can't get him going early, but I'm still starting him unless you are just stacked.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Lacy has looked like a beast in preseason and that 49ers will not be able to overload the box with all of the weapons the Packers have in the passing game. I think Lacy is a low end flex play though against the 49ers 3rd ranked fantasy running back defense from a year ago. I would seek other options if possible.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
GB finally has a run game with Lacy and FranklinWill take a back seat to the more talented Spiller
Staff Rankings
FFLockerRoom
Even in a timeshare, Fred will have value. In fact, he will probably thrive in a timeshare. And against the Patriots, the Bills will need all of their most talented guys on the field.
Muntradamus
Beast Dome
Lacy has a good chance to score 10+ TDs if he plays like a capable RB. His competition is DuJuan Harris and Jonathan Franklin. While the Packers plan on using Franklin a lot in the Punt Return game, you can expect Lacy to be the workhorse RB. The Packers will score a lot of points, Lacy will get his Redzone carries. Just make sure Franklin does not look too good this Preseason.F-Jax who was once on top of the Fantasy Football RB world, is now on the outside looking in as he is now outside the Top 40. This offense is supposed to go to C.J. Spiller often, but Fred is the captain of this team and wants to take this team to the Playoffs. While that definitely will not happen, Jackson still has to prove he has a lot left in the tank so he can get traded, or earn a big pay day.
