Sunday Studs: Which Experts Got Them Right in Week 6?

Patience. Those of you who have it were rewarded handsomely for it on Sunday.

Whether you waited out Big Ben’s suspension or stuck with “Is he a dud?” guys like Dwayne Bowe (or better yet, snagged them from impatient owners), your paycheck finally arrived in Week 6.

Let’s take a quick look at these and other Sunday Studs, and reveal which experts hit and missed with their predictions of these players.

High Flying Eagles: Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson, and Kevin Kolb

If you’re an Eagles fan, that game against the Falcons was both immensely fun and horrific at the same time. I still can’t get that DeSean Jackson collision out of my head – my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that suffered serious injuries yesterday.

It’s amazing that Jackson put up his numbers in just over a quarter of play. Maclin obviously stepped up big with a huge performance that put him atop this week’s Sunday Studs. As for Kolb, well, was it just me or did he look like an every week starter in the NFL?

Early reports suggest that Jackson will miss week 7 and that Kolb could be in line to start over Vick for at least one more week. But, if you own any part of this Eagles offense, you’ll likely be waiting (patiently) for more concrete news. I suggest keeping an eye on our constantly updated fantasy alerts for aggregated news, Tweets, and articles from over a hundred sources.

4th Quarter Studs: Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, and Calvin Johnson

If you’re an Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, or Calvin Johnson owner, your patience was tested over three quarters of ho-hum performance. Most of the fireworks for these Sunday Studs happened in the 4th quarter.

It was particularly hard to watch Derrick Ward score yet another TD while subbing in for Foster (especially since Foster had zero TDs in the game when it happened). Yes, as a Foster owner, 38-yard TD runs are still classified as “vulturing” – I know Foster would have made that same run!

Andre Johnson is the epitome of a stud. Another clutch performance with the game on the line – how can anyone not love this guy?

Speaking of love, I’ve had a certified man crush on Megatron since he entered the league, so I’m used to the type of game Calvin had yesterday. Little to no production while he’s blanketed all day, and then a sudden long TD reception toward the end of the game that lets you say, “Finally!” If you decided to bench him because of his shoulder injury, all I can say is, ouch.

Reborn at Last: Dwayne Bowe, Greg Jennings, and Ben Roethlisberger

If you started any of these guys this past weekend, you likely had to exercise a lot of patience while they scored you little (Bowe) to nothing (Roethlisberger) over the first 5 weeks of the season.

Now that they’re finally on the Sunday Studs list, you’ll need to figure out if Week 6 was representative of more to come or if this is a good time to sell. I can’t help you here, but it will be interesting to see how the experts rank these players now. Will they over react or under appreciate? We’re keeping track, so we’ll soon find out.

Sunday Night Studs: Ryan Torain, Pierre Garcon, and Joseph Addai

I patiently waited for this game to start because I was going up against Manning, Collie, and Addai in one league. All these guys got TDs, so you can probably guess how things turned out for me. To make matters worse, I dropped Garcon in one league late on Saturday night based on some “inside info” that was obviously from a rotten source. Now you know why we don’t give our own advice on this site!

I will pat myself on the back for grabbing Torain a few weeks ago, before he became a hot pick up. But was it just me or did he look painfully slow on TV? I honestly kept thinking, “Is he jogging?” Perhaps it was just because I always saw him run right after seeing the 5’7” Redskin’s kick returner, Brandon Banks, darting around the field. That dude weighs 155 lbs. To put this in perspective, that’s 2 inches shorter and 45 lbs lighter than what they list Danny Woodhead at!

Addai put in a strong performance but it looks like Mike Hart and Donald Brown will be hot pickups if Addai’s late injury is deemed to be serious. The waiver wire articles are already coming out.
