Week 1: Who Would You Start?

Finally. Week 1 of the NFL is kicking off this Wednesday! We’ll be launching our Week 1 Rankings and popular “Who Should I Start?” tool soon (yes, I know, the sooner the better). Meanwhile, remember to import your league into our in-season tool called My Playbook. It’s free for one team, so there’s no reason not to try it.

A couple of the most popular questions we get here at FantasyPros are, “Can I compete against the experts?” and “Can you track my accuracy?” The answer to both is yes! We’ll be offering a few ways for you to see how you stack up to the pros this year, including…

Our Pick Five Game. We give you five different start/sit questions and you answer by picking which player you like for each matchup. We’ll track your accuracy and show you how you compare to the experts we track. Think you’re smarter than Matthew Berry? Well, now you get your chance to prove it!

Thanks to our partner, StarStreet, you’ll also win $20 if you get all five picks correct (first-time players only). It’s totally free and only takes a few minutes to play, so get your picks in now! Please note that you’ll need to register with StarStreet so we can keep track of your picks.

Here are the matchups for the first game (there will be several games each week…you can play in as many as you want):

Rob Gronkowski (@ Ten) -or- Jimmy Graham (vs. Was)
Geez, I wish I had this decision to make. I’d be dishing off Gronk in a trade in a nano second. Put me on the record for saying that Hernandez outscores Gronk this year (disclaimer: I am not a fantasy football expert).

Robert Griffin III (@ NO) -or- Andrew Luck (@ Chi)
The battle of the top two rookie QBs. I’ll take the QB that will likely be playing catch up the entire second half. Oh wait, that doesn’t really narrow things down. Give me some Luck then.

Tony Romo (@ NYG) -or- Eli Manning (vs. Dal)
Wow, how times have changed. Romo used to be an auto-pick vs. Eli. Something tells me that the majority will be on Eli Manning playing at home. I’ll take Romo and his nicked up WRs (I’m biased, I own Dez Bryant in every league I’m in).

Jordy Nelson (vs. SF) -or- Victor Cruz (vs. Dal)
Two breakout receivers from last season. I guess we’ll find out soon if they keep the fireworks going. This is a tough call, so I’ll be a Bay Area homer and go with Cruz since Nelson’s playing against the Niners.

Chris Johnson (vs. NE) -or- Steven Jackson (@ Det)
The battle of the dreadlocks. Chris Johnson owners across the nation will be watching this one thinking, please be the C2K we know and love. As for SJax, Detroit used to be the “start anyone and everyone that plays against them” defense in fantasy. Now they’re ranked as the #10 DST in our consensus rankings. I’ll go with C2K since he’s not on the Rams.

If you guys want to know how accurate you are (and have a decent chance of winning $20 for free), play Pick Five now!
