6 Must Starts for Week 4 (Warning: JAC, OAK, NYJ players included)

Wake up! You've made the Must Start list. With more receptions, yards and TDs* than Santonio Holmes, is Stephen Hill the Jets WR to own? (*includes a TD that got called back).

Sleeping or sleeper? With more receptions, yards and TDs* than Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill might be the Jets WR to own and start! (*includes a TD that got called back).

I benched Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron last week (I know, cry me a river). Trusting Hoyer and the Browns offense to score a lot of points on the road seemed foolish. In general, counting on players from inept offenses probably isn’t the best fantasy football strategy to follow, but savvy owners know that fantasy gold can be found in many places.

With that in mind, we asked our Top Daily Fantasy Experts from last week to each give us their one “Must Start” of the week for our FantasyPros Challenge — a salary cap competition hosted by Draft Street where you can’t just start all the studs for the week. Because of the max salary limitation, the advice provided can be a great way to find high upside sleepers and flex starters, along with identifying the studs that are least likely to disappoint their owners.

And of course, you should all be playing in the Challenge! $6,000 is awarded every week for this exclusive FantasyPros contest. The winner gets $1,000 and anyone that beats our top expert’s score gets a piece of the $1,000 Beat the Expert Bonus! The contest is capped at no more than 500 players and it’s only $11 to play, so enter now.

Here are the 6 players identified by our experts as must starts for Week 4’s FantasyPros Challenge…

Name one player you will definitely have in your DraftStreet Salary Cap lineup this week. Why?

Stephen Hill (WR, NYJ)
“The last three weeks, Stephen Hill has helped Geno Smith ease into the endzone by becoming a reliable, down the field target. Hill leads the Jets in targets and the resurgence of Santonio Holmes has really opened up the Jets passing game. For some reason, after 3-108-1 game, Hill’s salary is still depressed across the board, sitting at 7,254 on Draftstreet, or 7.2% of your cap. In a larger tournament (like the DFAC, run by Fantasy Pros) Hill is the perfect play with a very high ceiling, but the safety of being an integrated part of an offense.”
Davis Mattek, Sports Wunderkind

Aaron Dobson (WR, NE)
“With big time fantasy players coming with big time price tags, each daily lineup needs some cheap options to balance out the budget sheet, and this week’s DraftStreet bargain is New England wide receiver Aaron Dobson ($5,567). Dobson bounced back from his terrible Week 2 to post a seven catch, 52 yard performance in Week 3 and now faces an Atlanta secondary that is coughing up 296 yards per game through the air. I am plugging in Dobson as a cheap option, allowing me to load up on studs at other positions.”
Jeff Brubach, The Fake Football

Kansas City Chiefs (DST)
“The one ‘player’ I’ll probably have in my DraftStreet Salary Cap lineup this week is the Kansas City Chiefs D/ST. Even after a stellar outing against the Eagles last Thursday they’re still going relatively cheap ($4,474). The lowly New York Giants come to Arrowhead Stadium this weekend with the most points allowed against opposing defenses. I expect the Chiefs to keep over-performing and the Giants to continue under-performing in Week 4.”
Zach Greubel, Gridiron Experts

Terrell Pryor (QB, OAK)
“Who would have thought we’d be hoping for a healthy Pryor in Week 4? The PPG total isn’t the best, but we’re talking about the Redskins here. Do they play 11 on defense? The Skins have allowed the second most passing yards, the most passing TDs and can’t stop the run either. At just over $13,000, Pryor is a lock at QB…assuming he plays.”
Jake Ciely, Football.com

Torrey Smith (WR, BAL)
“Smith ($10,227) is averaging nearly 10 targets per game. As a result, the big-play threat has tallied 3 straight weeks with 10+ fantasy points (DraftStreet scoring). Smith is always just 1 play away from a monster fantasy day. And his upside increases this week against a Buffalo defense that’s already allowed 5 TDs to opposing WRs.”
Kevin English, DraftSharks

Maurice Jones-Drew (RB, JAC)
“Maurice Jones-Drew at $8,127 is priced too low for me to pass up. MJD should have plenty of opportunities to produce out of the backfield as the Jags attempt to steer clear of their quarterback disaster. Combine MJD’s opportunities with a match-up versus a subpar Colts rush defense and you have yourself a RB steal for only $8,127.”
