Who Will Blow Up In Week 10?

Nick Foles torched Oakland last week. Guess who's at home, off a bye, and facing the Raiders this week?

For large field salary cap contests, like our FantasyPros Challenge, you need to find a mix of studs and sleepers that all have a chance of blowing up. We found some good players last week (like Nick Foles and Andre Johnson) by using our salary cap analysis tool. The top daily fantasy experts also shared some great picks (like Zac Stacy and Stevan Ridley). In other words, if you read last week’s post, you probably ended up with some nice DraftStreet winnings in Week 9.

We went through the same exercise this week to pick a lineup for our Week 10 Contest. See our team below. We will only make changes if someone is inactive. Also note that you can use any of the same players in your lineup.

To give you some ideas of other players that might blow up this week, we asked our top daily fantasy experts to…

Name one player that you will likely have in your DraftStreet lineup for Week 10, that is NOT in the official FantasyPros lineup.

ELI MANNING (QB, NYG) – $12,473
“Before setting your daily fantasy lineup for Week 10, let’s head to the classroom for a little history lesson. First, we look at the recent history of Week 9 of the 2013 NFL season. What stands out most is the Oakland Raiders pitiful attempt to slow down Nick Foles and the Eagles passing game that put up an NFL record seven passing touchdowns. Next, we’ll travel back a few years and note that over the past five seasons, the New York Giants have averaged 35.4 points per game and boast a perfect 5-0 record coming out of a bye week. What does this all mean? Simply that, despite his season-long mediocrity, Eli Manning — who has surprisingly put together two straight interception-free games — will be inserted with confidence into my Week 10 lineup at the bargain price of just $12,473 as the G-Men host an Oakland team traveling across the country for a 1 PM game this Sunday.”
Wayne Bretsky, BretskyBall

LESEAN MCCOY (RB, PHI) – $12,830
“One player who will be in my Week 10 Draftstreet lineup is LeSean McCoy. He is an elite RB whose price has now fallen to 2nd tier status. He’s still getting it done with his pass catching skills even when the run isn’t there. Everyone will be focused on Nick Foles and those 7 TD’s and it feels like the perfect game for Shady to break loose. I’m not overly impressed with Green Bay’s middle of the road run defense and with Seneca Wallace playing QB for them, the threat of a Green Bay blowout is not very high.”
David Kaplen, RotoGrinders

BRANDON MARSHALL (WR, CHI) – $12,441
“Brandon Marshall will likely be in my week 10 lineup at DraftStreet.com. At Pro Football Focus five out of six experts, including myself, have him ranked as the number two wide receiver. He’s playing at home against a weak Detroit secondary. Jay Cutler practiced today and is a go for Sunday’s matchup. Marshall’s price tag is $12,441, cheaper than Dez Bryant, A.J. Green and Andre Johnson and pennies more than receivers Wes Welker and Vincent Jackson.”
Nate Hodges, Pro Football Focus

BRANDON MYERS (TE, NYG) – $3,942
“One player that will find his way into my Week 10 DraftStreet lineup will be New York Giants’ tight end Brandon Myers. After a fast start, Myers hasn’t been very involved in the passing game lately, but with run-blocking tight end Adrien Robinson returning to the lineup and a matchup against his former team (that happened to allow eight catches to Eagles’ tight ends last week) Myers will be a sneaky value play. I’ll take the budget route at this position and look to spend some of those saved dollars in other areas this week.”
Micah James, FFMagicman

SENECA WALLACE (QB, GB) – $9,078
“I know he played poorly last week, but he is an NFL Vet. I expect him to be much better with a week of practice. He has a very low salary at DraftStreet and he is facing one of the worst pass defense in the league. I don’t expect an Aaron Rodgers game, but he has enough talent for a 250 yard day with 2 TD’s plus more upside. His low salary will allow you to strengthen your team at RB or WR.”
Shawn Childs, scoutPro
