Quarterback
Sam Bradford – Philadelphia Eagles ($29)
vs. Miami Dolphins
Philadelphia’s bye week may have worked wonders for their beleaguered offense as they looked good against Dallas last week. The running game started to click and Jordan Matthews came to life with nine catches for 133 yards and a touchdown, which was a game-winner in overtime. Bradford has a chance to improve in the second half of the year as Philadelphia’s schedule gets much easier. Miami’s pass defense is ranked twenty-fifth in the league in DVOA according to Football Outsiders. Look for Bradford to turn in a solid performance this weekend.
Other notables:
- Russell Wilson ($32)
- Peyton Manning ($31)
- Matthew Stafford ($31)
- Matt Cassel ($22)
Running Back
James Starks – Green Bay Packers ($18)
vs. Detroit Lions
Following Eddie Lacy’s struggles, Starks was just promoted to starting running back on Green Bay’s depth chart. Lacy is dealing with a groin injury and at this point is likely to see less work than Starks. Detroit owns one of the league’s least effective run defenses, checking in at twenty-ninth in the league in DVOA and allowing opposing running backs to average 23.7 fantasy points per game. There’s a good chance Green Bay builds a big lead and is able to run the ball extensively in the second half.
Other notables:
- Jeremy Langford ($21)
- Charcandrick West ($17)
- Matt Jones ($16)
- Theo Riddick ($13)
Wide Receiver
Brandin Cooks – New Orleans Saints ($23)
@ Washington Redskins
Cooks has really come on of late, scoring three touchdowns over his past two games. It appears the Saints’ offense is finally getting on track after a rough start to the season. Cooks has seen 27 targets over the last three games and has been over 70 receiving yards in five of his last seven games. Washington has struggled to contain opposing wide receivers this year.
Other notables:
- Brandon LaFell ($21)
- Kamar Aiken ($20)
- Jordan Matthews ($20)
- Sammy Watkins ($19)
- Cecil Shorts III ($15)
Tight End
Eric Ebron – Detroit Lions ($17)
@ Green Bay Packers
Ebron has been pretty consistent as far as tight ends go, seeing five or more targets in five of six games played this season. He has scored touchdowns in three of those games. Expect Detroit to have to throw often as they will most likely be down early in this game.
Other notables:
- Richard Rodgers ($16)
- Crockett Gillmore ($16)
- Jason Witten ($15)
- Kyle Rudolph ($14)
Defense
Baltimore Ravens ($10)
vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Ravens’ defense has not performed well this season, but they will be facing a turnover-prone quarterback as favorites at home which is always a good situation for a fantasy defense. Vegas has the Ravens listed as a 5.5-point favorite.
Other notables:
- Oakland Raiders ($12)
- New York Jets ($11)
