Draftpot Fan Mode Lineup Advice: Week 14
Now that he's being targeted early and often, Danny Amendola will look to perform his best Julian Edleman impersonation on Sunday

Now that he’s being targeted often, Danny Amendola will look to perform his best Julian Edelman impersonation on Sunday

Welcome to Week 14 of the NFL season. It’s hard to believe that the NFL season is winding down, with only four more weeks left. We have some more great matchups to look at, including a huge revenge game for LeSean McCoy. Let’s go ahead and jump right into my Week 14 Draftpot Fan Mode recommendations.

TOURNAMENT LINEUP

Quarterback

Tom Brady (NE) – at HOU
Visually, Tom Brady did not have a good game against the Eagles last week. However, he did have a good fantasy day, throwing for 312 yards and four touchdowns. I imagine that most people will be using either Cam Newton or Russell Wilson this week, which means Tom Brady is once again a good contrarian play.

Running Back

LeSean McCoy (BUF) – at PHI
I’m not someone who normally buys into the revenge narrative. However, this case is a different story. LeSean McCoy gave a fiery response to a beat reporter’s question about Chip Kelly the other day, and it has been said that McCoy is telling his teammates that he really wants this game. Besides the narrative, McCoy has been playing great over the past five games, averaging 5.13 yards per carry.

Thomas Rawls (SEA) – at BAL
The matchup doesn’t look great for Thomas Rawls. However, the game flow definitely favors the Seahawks. Since taking over for the injured Marshawn Lynch, Rawls has gained a total of 459 yards and scored four touchdowns in three games.

Wide Receiver

Julio Jones (ATL) – at CAR
Here is another matchup that doesn’t look great on paper, which will likely scare some people away from Julio Jones. Anytime you can get an elite wide receiver at low ownership, it is something to consider for tournaments. If he does end up having a huge game, he could really separate you from the pack.

Odell Beckham Jr. (NYG) – at MIA
My chalk play this week is Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham has had at least 100 yards receiving in each of the past five games, as well as six touchdowns in that same span. There is nothing that leads me to believe his streak will end this week since he has a good matchup against the Dolphins.

Danny Amendola (NE) – at HOU
With other great options available, this is strictly a stack with Brady. Since Julian Edelman went down with an injury, Danny Amendola has seen double-digit targets in every game. Since the Patriots have a great offense, it is entirely possible that Amendola reels in at least 10 receptions, with over 100 yards and maybe even two touchdowns. If that would occur, then Amendola would really separate you from the pack since it is likely he will be low owned.

Tight End

Delanie Walker (TEN) – at NYJ
Although the matchup doesn’t look great, the Jets are more susceptible to the pass than they are to the run. Also, Delanie Walker still leads the Titans in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Over the last three games, Walker has had at least six receptions and 90 yards.

Flex

Brandon Marshall (NYJ) vs. TEN
Brandon Marshall has been playing great lately, scoring a total of six touchdowns in the past five games. This week he will likely see Perrish Cox, who is the 67th-ranked defensive back in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

Sammy Watkins (BUF) at PHI
Sammy Watkins had another great game last week against a good Texans’ defense. This week he has a great matchup against the Eagles, who allow the most Draftpot points to wide receivers this season.

Defense/Special Teams

Kanas City Chiefs vs. SD
Besides a bad game two weeks ago against the Bills, the Chiefs’ defense has been playing great lately scoring at least 18 Draftpot points in three out of their last four games. This week they have a great matchup against the Chargers, who have been struggling since Keenan Allen went down with an injury.

Kicker

Graham Gano (CAR) – vs. ATL
Graham Gano has kicked multiple field goals in six of the last seven games for the Panthers.

CASH LINEUP

Quarterback

Russell Wilson (SEA) – at BAL
Wilson has been on fire lately, throwing a total of 11 touchdowns in the last three weeks. This week he has an outstanding matchup against the Ravens, who have been awful against the pass this season.

Running Back

LeSean McCoy (BUF) – at PHI
McCoy has the revenge game narrative this week against the Eagles. He also has been playing well over the past five games, averaging 5.13 yards per carry.

Doug Martin (TB) – vs. ATL
Doug Martin has been playing well lately, accumulating a total of 427 rushing yards in the past three games. Also, the Saints are horrendous against the run, allowing the second-most Draftpot points to running backs this season.

Wide Receiver

Antonio Brown (PIT) – at CIN
The matchup looks bad on paper, but Antonio Brown is an elite wide receiver in a good offense. Back in Week 8, Brown had six receptions, 47 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Bengals.

Odell Beckham Jr. (NYG) – at MIA
Beckham has a streak of five consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards. He also has six touchdowns in that span. He has a good chance to extending his streak to six games with a good matchup against the Dolphins this week.

DeAndre Hopkins (HOU) – vs. NE
DeAndre Hopkins has been one of the best receivers in the league this season and he has a decent matchup against the Patriots this week.

Tight End

Greg Olsen (CAR) – vs. ATL
With Rob Gronkowski’s’s status up in the air, Greg Olsen is once again the top play at tight end. Olsen leads the Panthers in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns this season.

Flex

Brandon Marshall (NYJ) – vs. TEN
Marshall has been on fire lately, with six touchdowns in the past five games. This week he has a good matchup against the Titans, who have allowed 25 passing touchdowns this season.

A.J. Green (CIN) – vs. PIT
A.J. Green has been spectacular the past two weeks with 11 receptions, 189 yards and three touchdowns. This week he has a great matchup against the Steelers, who have given up a ton of points to wide receivers this season.

Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks at BAL
The Seahawks have been playing well lately. This week they may face a third-string quarterback in Jimmy Clausen if Matt Schaub is unable to play.

Kicker

Stephen Gostkowski (NE) at HOU
Stephen Gostkowski is one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL and he plays for one of the best offenses in the league. He should have plenty of opportunities to score some points this week.
