DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Saturday (3/19)

DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Saturday (3/19)
Steven Stamkos

Steven Stamkos has a pair of two-goal games on Tampa Bay’s current road trip

Tonight there are eight games with some not-so-obvious matchups, especially at goalie. One thing about the NHL is that teams who are out of the playoffs can still beat anyone on any given night. For my lineup tonight I was able to find players who are on the top lines of their teams who come at a low price, which allowed me to pay up for some studs. I also took a look at three-game sample sizes to find players who are hot coming into their Saturday night games.

Teams that I like for you to build your lineups around include. Tampa Bay, Ottawa, New Jersey, Buffalo and Los Angeles

Center

Steven Stamkos (TB): $7,400 @ ARI
Stamkos has put up a pair of two-goal games on Tampa Bay’s current road trip. For the season, he has 32 goals and has averaged 3.6 fantasy points per game this season. He has a good matchup tonight against an Arizona team that is out of the playoff race.

Mika Zibanejad (OTT): $4,600 vs. MON
Zibanejad has scored two goals and two assists in his last three games for a total of 15 fantasy points in that span. He will likely be centering the top power play unit tonight at home against Montreal who struggles on the road.

Wing

Tyler Kennedy (NJ): $2,900 @ CLS
He has been playing on the top line for the Devils and has one goal and four assists in his last three games, good for 15 fantasy points. Not sure how long his point streak will continue but at his price he’s worth a shot tonight.

Devante Smith-Pelly (NJ): $3,400 @ CLS
Smith-Pelly is also on the top line for the Devils with Tyler Kennedy, and he has been faring well of late posting seven goals and three assists in his last eight games. He seems to enjoy his new change of scenery after being traded from Montreal. Just like Kennedy, he is a great value option tonight in my lineup.

Alex Killorn (TB): $4,600 @ ARI
Killorn has not exactly been lighting up the scoring sheet, but he is paired with Stamkos on Tampa Bay’s top line and plays close to 20 minutes a game. In his last 10 games, he has two goals and three assists averaging 2.2 fantasy points per game.

Defense

Erik Karlsson (OTT): $8,300 vs. MON
Because I was able to find value at my wing position, I am able to pay up for one of the best defensemen in the league in Karlsson. He has 14 goals and 60 assists this season and is capable of putting up a huge fantasy game any given night. Two games ago he scored a goal and had two assists, good for 10 fantasy points against Minnesota. Karlsson at home has been one of my favorite plays this season, so why change now?

Zach Bogosian (BUF): $4,600 @ TOR
Bogosian isn’t exactly a fantasy darling by any means, but he has a two-game goal streak and has been getting more active lately in the Sabres’ offense with 17 shots on goal in his last four games. He only has six goals and 20 points this season, but the third-overall pick in the 2008 draft could be taking his game to another level here at the end of the season.

Goalie

Keith Kincaid (NJ): $7,400 @ CLS
Kincaid has taken over the goalie duties for the Devils for Cory Schneider who is out with a knee injury. He has been a bit hot and cold over the season, so this is a risky play but he has won three of his last four starts with the loss coming against the Anaheim Ducks who are on fire right now. Kincaid and the Devils face the Columbus Blue Jackets who have scored just three goals in their last three games.

Utility

Anze Kopitar (LA): $6,600 vs. BOS
He has six goals and six assists in his last 10 games for an average of 4.4 fantasy points per game in that span. Hard to believe that his price is under $7,000 after he’s posted 24 goals and 64 points this season. In his last two games Kopitar has three goals and 13.5 fantasy points and is a must-start in any fantasy lineup right now.

Make sure to double check lineups and particularly the starting goalies prior to the first puck drop as they can be subject to change.
