Brief Summary

As we get closer to scheduled first pitch, I will add radar and simulated radar images at www.mlbdfsweather.com.

  • A few sprinkles around for DET at MIN, VERY LOW CHANCE OF ANY PROBLEMS.
  • WAS at STL will see rain impact the region this morning. By 1 PM EDT, the rain should be just about to exit the Gateway to the West and by scheduled 1st pitch the rain should be long gone never to return for the rest of the game. VERY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD, LOW CHANCE OF A DELAYED START (if the rain is a tad slow exiting the region).
  • ATL at CHC will see a solid, but not overly heavy shield of rain impact the Windy city this afternoon. A solid shield of rain will continue to affect the city until about 8-9 PM EDT. It will be windy and miserably cold. HIGH CHANCE OF PPD/DELAY(S).
  • CWS at BAL and CLE at PHI will see a light shield of rain approach them from the west but it should pass by to the north of these cities. Dry to start, so no issues getting the game underway. VERY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD/DELAY(S)(RISK INCREASES LATER ON).
  • CIN at PIT will see a light to moderate shield of rain move into the region late this afternoon. The region will experience a several hour period of steady, but not overly heavy, rain about the time the game is supposed to start. Close call, so I will go MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/DELAY (S)

Poor Hitting Environments

  • DET at MIN will see a moderate wind blowing in from left with relatively cool temperatures.
  • NYY at BOS will play at Fenway with temperatures only around 50.

Good Hitting Environments

  • HOU at DET will see a nice breeze blowing out to right-center and seasonably warm temperatures.
  • LAA at TEX will see a light breeze blowing out to right and comfortable temperatures.
