Welcome to another edition of the Wednesday FanDuel MLB Lineup advice. This article will focus on the seven-game main slate tonight. As of right now there are no weather concerns for any of these games. Once again, be sure to check lineups as teams release them throughout the day. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my lineup for tonight.

Pitcher
Drew Smyly (TB): $8,700 vs. LAD
Smyly has pitched well so far this season with a 2.60 ERA and a 10.64 K/9. Tonight he has a decent matchup against the Dodgers who have not been too great against left-handed pitching this season.
Other Notables
- Jose Fernandez (MIA): $10,800 vs. ARI
Catcher
Brian McCann (NYY): $2,900 vs. BAL
McCann has not hit well this season. However, the catcher position does not have too many appetizing options and McCann does have a good matchup against Tyler Wilson, a right-handed rookie, in a hitter’s park.
Other Notables
- Matt Wieters (BAL): $2,400 at NYY
First Base
Edwin Encarnacion (TOR): $3,300 vs. TEX
Encarnacion does not have the handedness advantage tonight. However, Colby Lewis is not a good pitcher. He currently has a 5.77 FIP and a mediocre K/9 of 5.81. These numbers suggest that Lewis is about to get rocked, and tonight may be the night.
Other Notables
- Mark Teixeira (NYY): $3,000 vs. BAL
- Justin Smoak (TOR): $2,200 vs. TEX
Second Base
Derek Dietrich (MIA): $2,900 vs. ARI
With the suspension of Dee Gordon, the Marlins will employ a platoon at second base with Dietrich and Miguel Rojas. Dietrich has always hit right-handed pitching well with a .347 wOBA and a .207 ISO during his career.
Other Notables
- Jonathan Schoop (BAL): $2,400 at NYY
- Brian Dozier (MIN): $3,100 at HOU
Third Base
Manny Machado (BAL): $4,200 at NYY
Machado has an excellent matchup tonight against C.C. Sabathia. Since 2013, Sabathia has allowed a .363 wOBA and a 1.48 HR/9 against right-handed hitters. Machado is probably my favorite hitter tonight.
Other Notables
- Evan Longoria (TB): $3,100 vs. LAD
Shortstop
Troy Tulowitzki (TOR): $3,400 vs. TEX
I already mentioned how we can pick on Lewis with a couple of Blue Jays’ bats, and Tulowitzki is another that we can use. Vegas currently has the Blue Jays as the top scoring team on the board tonight. If that is true Tulo should be involved in some capacity.
Other Notables
- Xander Bogaerts (BOS): $4,200 at CHW
Outfielders
Mark Trumbo (BAL): $3,700 at NYY
Trumbo is another Orioles right-handed bat that we can use against Sabathia. Trumbo is absolutely raking against left-handed pitching this season with a .440 wOBA and a ridiculous .593 ISO.
George Springer (HOU): $3,600 vs. MIN
Springer is a hitter that I like to target when he is hot. It appears he is heating up again with a home run in each of his last two games. It also helps that Phil Hughes has been a reverse split pitcher, allowing a .337 wOBA and a 1.34 HR/9 versus right-handed hitters since 2013.
Steve Pearce (TB): $2,300 vs. LAD
Alex Wood is not a pitcher I would stack against, especially with the Rays’ offense. However, if you want to use one or two Rays right-handed bats against him it would not be a bad thing. Pearce has always been solid against left-handed pitchers with a .357 wOBA and a.216 wOBA during his career.
Other Notables
- Danny Santana (MIN): $2,400 at HOU
- Matt Holliday (STL): $2,900 vs. PHI
- Randal Grichuk (STL): $2,900 vs. PHI
