Brief Summary

  • SF at CIN will see a line of showers and thunderstorms associated with a strong cold front push into the region during the late morning hours. This batch of rain will be moving fairly quickly and should be out of the Queen City by about 3 PM. So, with it being an early afternoon game they have plenty of time to wait the rain out, and that is exactly what I think they will do. CHANCE OF A PPD IS LOW, VERY LOW CHANCE OF AN IN-GAME DELAY, MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START TO THE GAME.
  • Numerous showers will be found across western Pennsylvania for CHC at PIT. The rain is not a steady shield. However, the rain will come down hard at times and the individual rain “cells” are slow moving. LOW CHANCE OF PPD, LOW TO MAYBE MODERATE CHANCE OF A DELAYED START TO THE GAME, MODERATE CHANCE OF AN IN-GAME DELAY(S).
  • ATL at NYM will see a similar weather pattern as the game in PIT but a bit less wet. The Big Apple should be in between rain batches and should experience light showers this afternoon. LOW CHANCE OF PPD, LOW TO MAYBE MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START OR AN IN-GAME DELAY.
  • SEA at OAK will see a few scattered showers around, but I am not expecting any problems.
  • DET at CLE will see the same batch of rain/t-storms that will affect CIN move in right around scheduled 1st pitch (6:10 PM). The batch of rain has slowed down as it traveled east so this game is a bit more worrisome to me in that regard. On the other hand, the rain does not seem overly heavy. Still some risk here, though. LOW TO MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/IN-GAME DELAY, MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START TO THE GAME.
  • NYY at BAL will see some rain around this evening but it is not overly heavy nor steady. LOW CHANCE OF PPD, LOW TO MODERATE CHANCE OF IN-GAME DELAY(S) OR LATE START TO THE GAME.

Good Hitting Environments

  • Strong wind blows out to right for BOS at CWS, though temperatures are cold.

Poor Hitting Environments

  • ATL at NYM will have a moderate breeze blowing in from right and temps will be cool.
