Will Chase Utley build on yesterday’s magical game?
Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the FanDuel lineup advice. This article will be focusing on the ten game main slate tonight. The only games that may be affected negatively by the weather tonight is the game in Baltimore between the Red Sox the Orioles and the game in Chicago between the Brewers and the Cubs. Be sure to keep an eye out on these locations before locking any of the players into your lineup tonight. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my lineup tonight.

Pitcher
Yu Darvish (TEX): $10,200 vs. OAK
Since Stephen Strasburg is pitching in Colorado, Yu Darvish is my top cash game pitcher for tonight. When healthy, Darvish has been one of the more dominant pitchers in all of baseball this season with a 11.60 K/9 and a 3.12 FIP. Although the A’s do not strike out much, the have been awful against right-handed pitchers this season with a 89 wRC+.

- Jon Lester (CHC): $10,800 vs. MIL
- Carlos Carrasco (CLE): $9,800 vs. CHW
Catcher
Yasmani Grandal (LAD): $3,100 at KC
Yasmani Grandal has been on an absolute tear over the past two weeks with a 0.502 wOBA and a 0.414 ISO. Tonight he has an excellent matchup against Jake Thompson, who has not looked good yet in two career starts. Thompson had a low K/9 (6.04) in 21 starts in Triple-A this season and had a ridiculously high LOB%, which I do not see translating to the MLB level.
- Victor Martinez (DET): $3,400 vs. KC
- Willson Contreras (CHC): $2,800 vs. MIL (If in lineup)
First Base
Adrian Gonzalez (LAD): $3,100 at PHI
Another Dodger bat we can use against Thompson is Adrian Gonzalez. Although he has not been as hot as Grandal, Gonzalez has been very good in the month of August. Gonzalez has a 0.444 wOBA and a 0.174 ISO over the last two weeks.
- Joey Votto (CIN): $4,100 vs. MIA
- Anthony Rizzo (CHC): $4,200 vs. MIL
- Dae-Ho Lee (SEA): $2,400 at LAA
Second Base
Chase Utley (LAD): $2,800 at PHI
I’ll continue the trend of picking on Thompson with Dodger bats. Chase Utley is another hitter who has been on fire lately. In the last seven days, Utley has a 0.439 wOBA and a 0.400 ISO including a pair of home runs last night.
- Ben Zobrist (CHC): $3,300 vs. MIL
- Jason Kipnis (CLE): $3,800 vs. CHW
Third Base
Adrian Beltre (TEX): $3,500 vs. OAK
Anytime Adrian Beltre is facing a left-handed pitcher he should be on your radar. Beltre currently has a ridiculous 0.480 wOBA and a 0.216 ISO against lefties at home this year. Also, Sean Manaea has struggled mightily against right-handed hitters in his rookie campaign, allowing a 0.356 wOBA.
- Justin Turner (LAD): $3,300 at PHI
Shortstop
Jose Reyes (NYM): $2,800 at ARI
Jose Reyes has not been great against right-handed pitchers this season. However, he has done well against them during his career with a 0.332 wOBA. Tonight he has a decent matchup against Zack Godley, who has been okay at best this season for the Diamondbacks.
- Corey Seager (LAD): $3,800 at LAD
- Javier Baez (CHC): $2,600 vs. MIL (If in lineup)
- Francisco Lindor (CLE): $3,500 vs. CHW
Outfielders
Nelson Cruz (SEA): $3,700 at LAA
Similar to Adrian Beltre, whenever Nelson Cruz is facing a left-handed pitcher you should be instantly thinking about inserting him into your lineup. Cruz currently has a 0.416 wOBA and a 0.352 ISO against lefties this season. Tonight he has a solid matchup against Tyler Skaggs, who has allowed a 0.338 wOBA to right-handed hitters in four starts this season.
J.D.Martinez (DET): $3,500 vs. KC
J.D. Martinez has been on fire since returning from an elbow injury on August 3rd. In that time span, Martinez has a 0.494 wOBA and a 0.340 ISO. Tonight he has a decent matchup against Yordano Ventura, who has struggled with his command this season allowing a 3.72 BB/9
Tyler Collins (DET): $2,400 vs. KC
Tyler Collins is a solid value option on tonight’s slate. Collins has been hitting in the two-hole lately and has hit right-handed pitchers well this season with a 0.330 wOBA and a 0.230 ISO. If he can just get on base a time or two and either score a run or drive someone, he will have done his job for your lineup.
- Adam Duvall (CIN): $3,200 vs. MIA
- Yasmany Tomas (ARI): $3,200 vs. NYM
- Ian Desmond (TEX): $4,000 vs. OAK
