Pryor’s price spiked after his explosive Week 3 game

Let’s take a look at notable salary changes as we head into Week 4 of the NFL season.

Check out our Salary Changes Tool to monitor risers and fallers week-to-weekpartner-arrow

Quarterbacks

Trevor Siemian (DEN): $7,400 @ TB (+$700)
Siemian is coming off of a 28.9 FanDuel point outing against the Bengals, in which he threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns. His salary has jumped as a result of this performance, but I still think he is probably worth a flier in tournaments. The Buccaneers continue to struggle defensively, and until they show meaningful change, we will need to continue targeting them. Be mindful that Siemian’s ownership levels will likely creep up due to last week’s performance, as well as the plus matchup.

Drew Brees (NO): $8,600 @ SD (-$400)
Brees and the Saints head west to face the Chargers, who have struggled mightily to defend the pass thus far. I like Brees in tournaments this week, despite his road splits, as this game will likely turn into a shootout. In regards to the road woes, it’s something to consider (1.29 TD/gm, 288 YD/gm in seven road games), but I’m still going to have some exposure to the veteran quarterback this week.

Running Backs

Cameron Artis-Payne (CAR): $5,700 @ ATL (+$900)
I noted in this very spot last week that I felt it would be Artis-Payne receiving the rushing workload over Fozzy Whitaker, and that came to fruition in Week 3. Artis-Payne is a similar back to Jonathan Stewart, so I believe they will continue to utilize him in that type of role. This is a plus matchup on the road against a divisional foe, so I don’t mind rolling Artis-Payne, despite the salary increase.

Terrance West (BAL): $4,900 vs. OAK (-$300)
While West’s Week 3 line leaves something to be desired in terms of overall production, he was efficient with his touches. Against the Jaguars, West produced 45 rushing yards on 10 carries, while also catching a pass for eight yards. The snap count (25%) is obviously a problem due to a committee, but his efficiency might earn him some more work. This play is nothing more than a flash in the pan for tournaments, but there is some upside against Oakland.

Wide Receivers

Terrelle Pryor (CLE): $7,000 @ WAS (+$1,200)
Pryor did a little bit of everything in Week 3, highlighted by his eight catches for 144 yards, but proceed with caution this week. Not only did his price jump the most of any receiver heading into Week 4, but he also is likely to get some Josh Norman treatment this week. As is always the case with cornerbacks that spend a lot of time on one side of the field, you’d hope that the offense moves a receiver like Pryor around a bit. Still, there’s plenty of risk involved here, so I will be looking elsewhere.

Julio Jones (ATL): $8,500 vs. CAR (-$800)
This matchup against Carolina obviously leaves a lot to be desired, but Jones’ ownership levels should be very low after a bad Week 3. The Saints committed a lot of resources towards stifling Jones, which left them incredibly vulnerable to the two-headed monster out of Atlanta’s backfield. I don’t think Carolina will put all of their focus on Jones, but make no mistake, they aren’t the Saints either. Still, Jones is an elite receiver, and this price makes him ripe for tournament play in Week 4.

Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham (SEA): $6,400 @ NYJ (+$1,200)
Remember when Jimmy Graham was always priced in this range? I had Graham listed in the next spot in last week’s article, as he continued to show signs of becoming more involved in the offense. What ensued was a 17 FanDuel point outing, which spawned this price hike. There is some uncertainty surrounding Russell Wilson’s status heading into Week 4, but Trevone Boykin is a Wilson-type quarterback, so the offense should still be able to produce. With that being said, this is quite a salary increase, so I might be a bit cautious this week.

Jack Doyle (IND): $4,800 @ JAX (-$200)
With Donte Moncrief on the shelf, the Colts appear to be willing to utilize more offensive sets with two tight ends on the field. Doyle has benefitted from this, as he produced TE1 numbers in Week 3, despite not scoring a touchdown. Head coach Chuck Pagano has faith in Doyle, and Andrew Luck apparently does too, as evidenced by his six targets last week.
