FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 3 (Sun)

Welcome to the Week 3 NFL FanDuel lineup article. This article will focus on the main slate on FanDuel, which no longer includes the Monday Night Football game (ATL at NO).

It’s pretty easy to construct a great looking lineup this week since there were several key injuries in Week 2. With that being said, let’s go ahead and dive into my lineup for Week 3.

Quarterback

Andrew Luck (IND): $8,700 vs. SD
Luck had a rough game in Week 2 against the Broncos, but he is still one of the top quarterbacks in the league. His matchup is much better against the Chargers this week and Luck will likely have to throw close to 40 times in this game since the Colts’ defense is one of the worst in the NFL.

Other Notables

Running Back

David Johnson (ARI): $8,400 at BUF
Bruce Arians ripped Johnson for making a couple of key mistakes in their Week 2 win over the Buccaneers. However, reports around the Cardinals indicate it is nothing to be concerned about.

Johnson is still going to be the workhorse in this offense and he will continue to be heavily involved in the passing game. At $400 less than DeAngelo Williams, Johnson is my favorite top dollar running back for Week 3.

Melvin Gordon (SD): $7,100 at IND
I mentioned Gordon yesterday in my value article and I’m definitely going to be plugging him into my cash lineup for Week 3. With Woodhead out for the rest of the season, Gordon is going to have a heavy workload each week. This week he has an outstanding matchup against the Colts, who have struggled to stop the run for years.

Other Notables

Wide Receiver

T.Y. Hilton (IND): $7,400 vs. SD
Hilton has historically been a boom or bust wide receiver and I have yet to see any boom this season. With Moncrief sidelined four to six weeks, and a great matchup against the Chargers, Hilton is primed for a huge game. This game should be a shootout between both teams and Vegas agrees, giving this game the highest total on the board for games on the “main” slate.

Jarvis Landry (MIA): $7,000 vs. CLE
Unless he has an extremely poor matchup, Landry is usually an extremely safe cash game option. Although Landry has failed to find the end zone yet, he has been heavily involved in the Dolphins’ passing game with team highs in targets (23), receptions (17) and receiving yards (197). Landry and the Dolphins should have no problem moving the ball down the field against the Browns in Week 3.

Travis Benjamin (SD): $6,900 at IND
Another player who we can use in the game between the Chargers and the Colts is Benjamin. Benjamin looked great in his first full game without Keenan Allen, accumulating 115 receiving yards on six receptions and scoring two touchdowns. Benjamin is primed for another huge game this week against the Colts, who have terrible secondary.

Other Notables

Tight End

Dennis Pitta (BAL): $5,000 at JAC
Pitta is another player from my value article who made my cash lineup as well. Pitta has looked like the 2012 version of himself through the first two games leading the Ravens in targets, receptions and receiving yards this season. Even if Pitta fails to find the end zone again in Week 3, he is still a safe option since he is targeted frequently by Joe Flacco.

Other Notables

Kicker

Justin Tucker (BAL): $4,800 at JAC
Tucker is one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL. Tucker and the Ravens should be in a great spot to put up some points against the Jaguars, who have not looked good on defense through two weeks this season.

Other Notables

D/ST

Miami Dolphins (MIA): $4,600 vs. CLE
The Dolphins don’t have a great defense, but they do have a great matchup at home against the Browns. The Browns will be using their third starting quarterback of the year in the form of Cody Kessler

Reports have said that Kessler is not close to being ready to play in the NFL and to make matters even worse, the Browns will be without Corey Coleman, who broke his hand in practice yesterday. This has all of the makings for an ugly game from the Browns’ perspective, which means the Dolphins are a great option in DFS this week.
