Quarterback and Tight End Streamers: Week 4

Quarterback and Tight End Streamers: Week 4
Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has another solid matchup Week 4

With more and more fantasy owners opting to wait on the quarterback and tight end positions in drafts, streaming each position has become a viable option. This is made easier by the fact that there are usually solid options on the waiver wire. Each week this column will scour the waiver wire and look for quarterbacks and tight ends who are owned in fewer than 50% of leagues and could be worth starting for your fantasy team.

All ownership percentages come from Yahoo fantasy leagues and all references to fantasy points allowed per game come from our fantasy points allowed (PA) reports here on Fantasy Pros. All references to DVOA (Defense-Adjusted Value Over Average) come from rankings on www.footballoutsiders.com. A detailed explanation of DVOA can be found here.

Quarterback

Dak Prescott (DAL): 44% owned
@ San Francisco 49ers

Prescott draws a very favorable matchup as he will travel to San Francisco to take on a 49ers team that is fresh off a rough outing against Russell Wilson and Trevone Boykin in Week 3. The Seattle quarterbacks combined to throw for 308 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers last week in a game that was basically over in the first quarter. That makes seven touchdown passes allowed by San Francisco over the past two games. Prescott doesn’t offer the upside that Wilson does, but he continues to impress in his rookie season. The rookie threw for one touchdown and added another on the ground in Week 3. Prescott’s ability to do damage in the run game really boosts his fantasy stock as he now has two rushing touchdowns on the season.

Joe Flacco (BAL): 29% owned
vs. Oakland Raiders

Flacco should be able to do some damage in Week 4 against the Raiders pass defense. Before Marcus Mariota laid an egg in Week 3 against the Raiders, they had been bleeding yards to opposing quarterbacks. With the Ravens struggling to get anything going in the running game, look for Flacco to throw often yet again in Week 4. Flacco is averaging 39.3 pass attempts per game in the pass-happy Marc Trestman scheme.

Tight End

Kyle Rudolph (MIN): 42% owned
vs. New York Giants

Rudolph has taken on a major role in the Vikings passing game, seeing 26 targets through the first three weeks of the season. The big tight end has turned those looks into 14 catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns. It appears that Rudolph will be second in line for targets after Stefon Diggs this season in what appears will be a more pass-happy Vikings offense with Adrian Peterson sidelined. The Giants defense is much improved this season, but they are still susceptible in the middle of the field, which should bode well for Rudolph’s chances this weekend.

Zach Miller (CHI): 40% owned
vs. Detroit Lions

Miller broke out in a big way in Week 3, catching 8-of-9 targets for 78 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys. His nine targets were second on the team and he could continue to be heavily involved if Brian Hoyer draws another start for the injured Jay Cutler. Detroit has been one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to stopping opposing tight ends, ranking 30th in the league in DVOA against the position this season after ranking 29th in 2015.
