Trey Lyles looks primed to present great value again tonight

Trey Lyles looks primed to present great value again tonight

Welcome back to Thursday’s FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice. We have a five-game slate tonight with some studs active in our lineups such as James Harden and John Wall. However, I’m always careful when it comes to players on back-to-back sets.

As you have seen this season, players like John Wall and Joel Embiid won’t play one of two games in a back-to-back set due to previous injuries. You also have the Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid swap on back-to-back sets with each guy getting one game of rest. See James Harden and John Wall below for more information.

Don’t forget to check out FantasyPros Cheat Sheets for assistance with your lineups and FantasyPros website for injury updates prior to tip-off. Without further ado, please check out my lineup advice below.

Tonight’s games and point projection totals:

  • MIL vs. MIA- 198
  • NY vs. WSH- 206
  • POR vs. HOU- 221
  • PHI vs. MIN- 212
  • CHI vs. UTA- 195

Point Guards

John Wall (WAS): $8,900 vs. NY
As mentioned before, I tread carefully when choosing players on back-to-back sets. However, with a short slate of games and many solid point guards injured such as Goran Dragic and George Hill, Wall will be in my lineup against the Knicks. Wall played only 24 minutes last night and still scored 27 points while Coach Brooks said Wall will play in both games! PLAY YOUR STUDS!

Ricky Rubio (MIN): $6,600 vs. PHI
Ricky Rubio finds himself in a potential shootout with the 76ers. Both teams are in the top tier of most points allowed to opposing teams this season which is indicative of point projection above. Rubio has two consecutive games of 30 plus fantasy points and draws another favorable matchup.

Also Consider:

Shooting Guards

James Harden (HOU): $11,700 vs. POR
As previously stated above, I tread carefully with players on back-to-back sets with the possibility they could play limited minutes or not play all together. However, after James Harden only scored 13 points last, I feel like he has plenty of scoring to do tonight against the Blazers.

Josh Richardson (MIA): $4,300 vs. MIL
Goran Dragic is likely to miss his fourth consecutive game with an ankle injury. Josh Richardson will likely start again at point guard with Tyler Johnson seeing additional minutes.

Richardson played really well in his previous game going for 19 points, four blocks and three steals. He’s a solid value play.

Also Consider:

Small Forwards

Andrew Wiggins (MIN): $7,000 vs. PHI
I can’t get over the fact that Andrew Wiggins is only a $7,000 daily price tag. Wiggins’ scoring output in his previous five games: 29, 47, 22, 29 and 36. Wiggins has pushed himself into stud status and is a steal at this price tag in a mouth-watering matchup against the 76ers who allow the second most points to opposing small forwards this season.

Otto Porter (WAS): $6,000 vs. NY
It’s a common trend to start the season. At this point, you start any small forwards going against Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks. The Knicks allow the third most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season. Porter is also coming off one of his best all-around games of the season with 15 points, 13 rebounds and four steals.

Also Consider:

Power Forwards

Ryan Anderson (HOU): $5,000 vs. POR
Ryan Anderson scored 14 points last night in a loss to the Thunder. In a game where all of the Rockets players struggled shooting the ball, Anderson actually shot a better field goal percentage than James Harden, Eric Gordon and Trevor Ariza. Anderson should be very involved in this potential shootout.

Trey Lyles (UTA): $4,000 vs. CHI
Trey Lyles was pushed into a larger role when Derrick Favors went down again with a knee injury in their previous game. Favors will likely miss this game with Lyles seeing the most additional minutes in his absence.

Lyles scored 18 points and finished with 30 fantasy points. Lyles is a solid value play in daily tonight against the Bulls.

Also Consider:

Center

Rudy Gobert (UTA): $6,400 vs. CHI
Rudy Gobert draws a favorable matchup against Robin Lopez and the Bulls. The Bulls allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.

The Jazz will likely be without Derrick Favors giving Gobert additional value. He also has two double-doubles in his last three games.

Also Consider:

Good luck tonight!
