Fantasy Football Snap Count Breakdown: Week 13

Fantasy Football Snap Count Breakdown: Week 13
Is Dontrelle Inman the real deal?

Is Dontrelle Inman the real deal?

Let’s get ready to NOT fumble! I’m looking at you, Carson Palmer. It’s that time, ladies and gentlemen. It’s time for the fantasy football playoffs! I hope you all managed to make it into the playoffs in your leagues and if not, then you can join me with my team in my league of record and wallow in self-pity.

To attempt to earn your confidence back, you should know that I did make the playoffs in all my other leagues. But, I digress. Let’s look at some snap count trends and observations from Week 13.

Terrance West 51% / Kenneth Dixon 33%
So last week’s take that Kenneth Dixon was beginning to take over the Baltimore backfield was a bust. Sorry, everyone. It happens. However, this is what we can expect for ROS from these two backs.

West will get the majority of snaps and touches, but Dixon will still be involved enough to have some value, especially in deeper leagues. The big news here is that West managed to get in the end zone twice this week, so he’s currently winning the battle for the starting RB job if there even is a battle at this point.

LeSean McCoy 63% / Mike Gillislee 29%
This is one of the few RB duos in the NFL where both RBs have significant fantasy value. McCoy has been tearing it up lately by gaining over 300 total yards in the last two weeks and has scored 6 TDs to McCoy’s 10 TDs this season. McCoy is still the lead RB, but Gillislee is a major handcuff with upside that should be owned in all formats.

Devontae Booker 67% / Kapri Bibbs 20% / Juwan Thompson 13%
Booker has certainly not been as efficient as everyone had hoped but he is still getting enough volume to be a fantasy RB2. The real story here is with Bibbs being placed on IR, how involved will Thompson become? Booker will still dominate this backfield, but Thompson should be added in deeper leagues because he will get more snaps/touches with Bibbs out.

Aaron Ripkowski 41% / Christine Michael 19% / James Starks 12%
You know you’re having a strange game when your FB plays more snaps than either of the RBs on your team. On top of that, Ripkowski also managed to run one in for a TD in this game. To make this even more interesting, Michael had more touches than Ripkowski and Starks.

Honestly, we shouldn’t be surprised. We got so excited about Starks being the featured back while forgetting that it is James Starks. Shame on us. That being said, I don’t trust any of these RB options in Green Bay because there is too much volatility.

Travaris Cadet 39% / Mark Ingram 33% / John Kuhn & Tim Hightower 21%
Insert shrug emoji here. Cadet had most targets and yards. Ingram had most rushing attempts. Hightower stunk it up. Kuhn got the touchdown.

It was a weird week for Saints RBs to say the least. This is the exception. Expect more of what we saw previously moving forward which was a pretty even split between Ingram and Hightower with Kuhn getting his random TDs that make Ingram/Hightower owners want to rip their hair out.

Thomas Rawls 55% / Troymaine Pope 28%
And the fantasy world collectively said, “Who?” Look, Rawls is the RB to own in Seattle, but Pope is an interesting add because he had eight rushing attempts last week and could begin to see more if Rawls slows down.

Doug Martin 55% / Jacquizz Rodgers 34% / Peyton Barber 14%
If anyone was still hanging on to Barber then just stop. Cut your losses.

What I am particularly interested to see is what these percentages look like when Charles Sims returns which could happen sooner rather than later. Rodgers should still be owned, just in case.

Mohamed Sanu 85% / Julio Jones 65% / Taylor Gabriel 39% / Aldrick Robinson 34%
The story here is that Sanu has a groin injury and Jones is battling a minor case of turf toe. I know he wasn’t as impressive this week, but Taylor Gabriel may have his shot to solidify his value if Sanu or Jones miss time.

On top of that, Gabriel also saw a season-high six targets which will only increase if either of the Atlanta WRs is unable to play. Gabriel should be picked up and could be a sneaky WR3 play this week.

Golden Tate 86% / Anquan Boldin 83% / Andre Roberts 76%
With Marvin Jones out, Andre Roberts stepped in and saw A LOT of playing time against New Orleans. Not only was he on the field, but Roberts was even targeted seven times. I’m not saying he’ll win you a championship, but if you’re desperate for someone who is at least seeing a decent amount of targets then keep your eye on Roberts if Jones is still ailing.

Chris Conley 86% / Albert Wilson 73% / Tyreek Hill 51%
I do not trust Albert Wilson moving forward. I know he had a great fantasy day, but if you take away the fake punt that he ran in for the TD, then he only had four receptions for 48 yards which are the most receiving yards in a game that he’s had since Maclin has been out. Wilson is not a reliable option to trust moving forward.

Nelson Agholor 100% / Dorial Green-Beckham 63% / Paul Turner 51%
Agholor went from playing 0% of the snaps last week to playing 100% of the snaps this week thanks to Jordan Matthews missing the game. The sad part is that Agholor still only had four receptions for 23 yards. The Philadelphia passing game is just not clicking right now, and Agholor continues to disappoint everyone including fantasy owners.

Dontrelle Inman and Tyrell Williams 96% / Travis Benjamin 78%
The bottom line is that Williams and Benjamin are both battling injuries that are hindering their performance while Inman has scored twice in the last two weeks. Call me crazy, but I’m buying into the situation that he’s in and his athleticism.

Hopefully, this article helps shed some light on the decision that you’re trying to make regarding your playoff run. Check back next week for the next snap count breakdown.
