FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Monday (1/23)

FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Monday (1/23)
James Harden

James Harden dropped 59.2 FDP on the Bucks less than a week ago

Monday night’s slate consists of nine games, offering plenty of options while constructing your DFS lineup. Below is my lineup for the evening.

Point Guard

Dennis Schroder (ATL): $6,500 vs. LAC
The German guard has tallied at least 34 FanDuel points in three of the Hawks’ past four games. In those games he has shot an impressive 59 percent, averaging 20.25 points and 6.0 assists. Schroder faces the Chris Paul-less Clippers, who just surrendered 123 points to the Nuggets on Saturday night. Look for Schroder to continue his solid play.

Austin Rivers (LAC): $5,400 vs. ATL
Speaking of the Clippers, Rivers should continue to have added opportunities as the team continues to play without Chris Paul (thumb). In the two games since Paul has been out, Rivers has averaged 18 points and 3.5 assists—good for at least 24 FanDuel points in both contests. The cheap price tag makes Rivers a desirable target for the night.

Shooting Guard

James Harden (HOU): $11,900 vs. MIL
Harden is playing at an MVP-level this season, averaging 28.7 points, 11.6 assists, and 8.2 rebounds (47 FanDuel points) per game. He has flourished in Mike D’Antoni’s first season as coach and is the key to one of the most potent offenses in the NBA. Just five days ago, Harden recorded 59.2 FanDuel points versus the Bucks (38 points, eight assists, and six rebounds). There’s no reason he can’t duplicate that effort Monday night, making Harden worth the price tag.

Dion Waiters (MIA): $5,500 vs. GS
Waiters is coming off his most efficient game of the season, 40.1 FanDuel points with 30 points, five three-pointers, three assists, and three rebounds. The Syracuse product has been performing better of late, averaging 27.03 FanDuel points in his last four games. The hapless Heat will need another good outing from Waiters to have any shot against the potent Warriors.

Small Forward

Kawhi Leonard (SA): $9,800 vs. BKN
Is there anyone in the NBA playing as well as Leonard of late? Six straight 30-point games for Leonard, in that timeframe he is averaging 34.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists (49.12 FanDuel points). Leonard is a star playing at an extremely high-level, plus he gets to face one of the worst teams in the NBA in the Nets. The only fear with Leonard is the chance that Gregg Popovich decides to rest his forward, so make sure he is active before slotting him into your lineup.

Marcus Morris (DET): $5,400 vs. SAC
Morris has been on a bit of a roll lately. He is just one rebound shy of recording three straight double-doubles. He has averaged 38.83 FanDuel points in those games and appears to be playing his best basketball of the season. A matchup versus the Kings on Monday should allow Morris to keep the momentum going.

Power Forward

Markieff Morris (WAS): $6,400 vs. CHA
The second Morris brother to make this lineup, Markieff has also been playing pretty well. Morris has averaged 16.2 points and 9.8 rebounds in his past five games—equal to 34.56 FanDuel points. If he keeps that going Morris will absolutely be worth the $6,400 price tag.

David Lee (SA): $5,100 vs. BKN
Good value with Lee, as he is another guy that should receive increased opportunities with Pau Gasol expected to miss four-to-six weeks (hand). Lee has seen an uptick in minutes since the injury and has averaged 12 points and 13.5 rebounds (34 FanDuel points). Plus, the Spurs face arguably the worst team in the NBA in the Brooklyn Nets.

Center

Al Jefferson (IND): $3,900 vs. NY
Big Al is a big risk, given that he has not played over 20 minutes in a game in all of January. But, he is a capable player that has scored over 20 points in two of the Pacers’ past three games and can provide decent FanDuel value if given the opportunity. The Pacers face the Knicks on Monday, who rank in the bottom half of the league defensively.
