FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Wednesday (1/18)
Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook will take on Kevin Durant and his new team Wednesday

Here we go again, guys! Another big FanDuel contest is in front of us, beginning at 7 PM. If you take down the NBA Shot, you will walk away with $50,000. Let’s get right down to it and look at a potential lineup you could use tonight to win.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook (OKC): $12,300 @ GS
Even though it’s technically not a revenge game for Westbrook, he will face his old teammate Kevin Durant. He’s faced Golden State once before this season, and he failed to reach 50 FanDuel points. That was mainly because he played in only 28 minutes. He was still able to get a double-double in that span. Westbrook has surely heated up since their first contest against each other. He’s reached at least 60 FanDuel points in five of his past eight games.

Derrick Rose (NY): $6,200 @ BOS
Rose gets a good matchup against an underwhelming Boston defense this year. With the speed that the Knicks are playing with, Rose gets plenty of opportunities to rack up statistics. Rose is coming off a big game where he put up 34 FanDuel points. He still can be up and down, so there is some risk here. However, due to the matchup, he should be able to easily exceed his value.

Also Consider

Shooting Guard

Tyreke Evans (NO): $5,600 vs ORL
Evans has seen a consistent amount of minutes lately, averaging 24 over his past three games. That isn’t much, but he’s been extremely efficient. He’s put up only 25 FanDuel points in back-to-back games, but he did exceed 46 just three games ago. He gets a pretty good matchup against the Magic, who most likely will be without Evan Fournier. Evans is still coming back from knee surgery, so it will be good to see his progress continue.

Jodie Meeks (ORL): $3,800 vs NO
Speaking of Fournier, if he is out, Meeks will get plenty of playing time. In his past two games, Meeks has seen 34 and 38 minutes. Although he has been quite inefficient, playing that many minutes surely benefits Meeks. At his low price tag, you really don’t need much out of Meeks. In his last three games where he’s seen 25 minutes or more, he’s exceeded 5X value at this price tag. New Orleans is another poor defensive team which could benefit Meeks here.

Also Consider

  • Giannis Anteokounmpo (MIL): $10,600
  • Tony Allen (MEM): $4,700

Small Forward

Robert Covington (PHI): $5,300 vs TOR
This might be a blowout game for Toronto, which does give me a little concern about Covington’s minutes. The only time recently that Covington saw less than 38 minutes was due to a blowout. However, in their last matchup, Philly was able to keep it somewhat close for the majority of that game. Covington saw 31 minutes as well as putting up 40 FanDuel points in that game.

Marcus Morris (DET): $4,900 vs ATL
With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope potentially out for his third straight game, Morris should again benefit. Morris put up a very good stat line of 23 points and nine rebounds in 43 minutes against the Lakers the last time out. It hasn’t all been peaches and cream without Caldwell-Pope, as Morris did struggle against Utah in the first game that Caldwell-Pope missed. I’m giving Morris a pass on that one, mainly because Utah is one of the best defensive teams out there. Atlanta is another good defensive team, but they have played faster this year, which will contribute to more fantasy points allowed.

Also Consider

Power Forward

Paul Millsap (ATL): $8,300 @ DET
Since we just established that Atlanta is playing faster this year, this certainly benefits Millsap. Millsap performed well without Dwight Howard in his past game. With Howard back, Millsap might not be as prolific as he was in his last game. That doesn’t mean Millsap can’t have a productive game. With Andre Drummond potentially out, Atlanta could really go at the Pistons down low. Although Millsap can shoot from longer range, being able to drive without a big man like Drummond, could certainly help Millsap’s game.

Enes Kanter (OKC): $6,300 @ GS
Fast-paced games are where you have to look for fantasy value tonight. Look no further than Golden State and Oklahoma City. Kanter is coming off a tough game, but that was at the hands of the Clippers. He also only saw 23 minutes in that game. In his four games prior, Kanter averaged 30 minutes per game and over 38 FanDuel points per game. Although the Warriors are a very good defensive team, the fact that they play at such a fast pace allows for more opportunities by the opposing team. He will also look to rebound from a terrible game against the Warriors in the first few games of the season, where he played in just three minutes of action.

Also Consider

Center

Myles Turner (IND): $6,900 @ SAC
Yes, DeMarcus Cousins is the shiny object at the center position tonight, but don’t overlook his opponent. Although Cousins is a superb talent, sometimes he is lacking on the defensive side. With Turner going against him, there’s a lot of opportunity for Turner to exceed his value. Turner is coming off a big game where he put up nearly 40 FanDuel points against the Pelicans. Turner isn’t very consistent, but he does have good upside in favorable matchups. In another favorable matchup, he recently put up 55 FanDuel points against Brooklyn earlier this month.
