Welcome to the Monday edition of the NBA FanDuel value plays. This article will focus on the five-game main slate on FanDuel.

Some of the recommendations depend on some injury news, so be sure to stay up to date with lineup news throughout the day. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite value options for tonight.

Point Guard

Yogi Ferrell (DAL): $3,500 vs. CLE
Yogi Ferrell got the start at point guard for the injured Deron Williams and took advantage with 25.9 FanDuel points in 36 minutes of action. Williams will once again be out tonight and assuming the Mavericks stick with Ferrell he becomes a plug and play value option against the Cavs. Kyrie Irving is one of the worst defensive point guards in the league and even if this game does turn into a blowout, Ferrell’s minutes should still be safe.

D.J. Augustin (ORL): $3,500 at MIN
Even Fournier is close to returning, so this recommendation is under the assumption that the Magic hold out Fournier for one more game. With Fournier out, D.J. Augustin has seen extended minutes with 29 minutes in last night’s game against the Raptors. If Fournier misses again, Augustin could be a decent GPP pivot from Ferrell, who will likely be the more popular option in large field GPPs.

Shooting Guard

Seth Curry (DAL): $4,300 vs. CLE
With Williams and J.J. Barea both on the shelf, Seth Curry has been the go-to backcourt option for the Mavs recently, and he has not disappointed. Over his last seven games, Curry has averaged 25.5 FanDuel points per game. Curry should once again see at least 30 minutes of court time, and at this salary, he should have no issues with at least reaching value with plenty of room for some upside.

Jaylen Brown (BOS): $3,900 vs. DET
The Celtics have been getting Jaylen Brown more involved in their rotation with 28 minutes and 30 minutes in their last two games. Assuming that the Celtics decide to hold Avery Bradley out for another game, Brown should be in a great spot to produce again. The Pistons will likely put Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Isaiah Thomas, which will give Brown a much more favorable matchup against Reggie Jackson.

Small Forward

Shabazz Muhammad (MIN): $3,900 vs. ORL
Another player who has seen a rise in minutes lately is Shabazz Muhammad. Over the past four games, Muhammad has averaged 27 minutes per game. I probably would not use him in cash games, since his usage has not been consistent, but he does have some upside at this salary if he continues to see 25-30 minutes of court time.

Jeff Green (ORL): $3,700 at MIN
Another player who is dependent on Fournier’s status is Jeff Green. In four of his last five games, Green has had at least 27 minutes of court time with Fournier off of the court. Similar to Muhammad, I’m not sure I can trust him for cash games, but he does have upside potential at this salary for GPPs, and he should not be a highly owned player.

Power Forward

Channing Frye (CLE): $3,800 at DAL
With Kevin Love already ruled out, Channing Frye immediately becomes a value option to consider. Frye gets a lot of open looks whenever LeBron James or Kyrie Irving drive to the basket since opposing defenses normally collapse on the driving player. In the previous two games that Love has missed, Frye played 30 minutes and scored a combined 58 FanDuel points. Frye is an excellent cash game option, but I believe there is merit to fading him in GPPs since he will likely be extremely popular at this price.

Dirk Nowitzki (DAL): $5,700 vs. CLE
On the opposite side of the floor, Dirk Nowitzki also makes for an interesting value option if the Mavericks decide not to hold him out in the second game of a back to back. Although he is not likely to see more than 30 minutes of time on the court, he has been pretty efficient with his minutes, averaging 28.7 FanDuel points over his past nine games.

Center

Kelly Olynyk (BOS): $4,100 vs. DET
I highly doubt that the Celtics will rush Al Horford back tonight considering that they have two days off until their next game after tonight. If that is the case, Kelly Olynyk should benefit with extended minutes off of the bench. In the past two games that Horford has missed, Olynyk has scored 30.9 and 21.5 FanDuel points, which is solid at this salary.
