FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Tuesday (2/14)

Don’t look now, but Rondo has actually been playing well lately

Happy Valentine’s Day, all. Today’s article will be short and brief, due to super small slate and not too much viable value out there tonight. FanDuel also has a fun “Boogie Nights” slate, where Boogie Cousins is the only center available at the center slot, with all other centers found in the shooting guard slot. It’s fun, especially for those looking for a change with the daily grind. Here are tonight’s value plays, sorted into guards, forwards, and centers for the small slate.

Guards

Rajon Rondo (CHI): $4,800 vs. TOR
Rondo is projected for 25.9 points tonight, at $189 per point, making him the top value among point guards tonight. It’s still unclear who will be the starting five among the Bulls tonight, but Rondo offers solid value at the position because of his minutes. He has averaged 20.7 FanDuel points in an average of around 22 minutes in his last 5 games.

Darren Collison (SAC): $5,700 @ LAL
Collison has been playing lights out of late, and he will be popular tonight because of that and his incredible value. He’s playing heavy minutes, and he’s projected for 27.2 points tonight. However, he is going up against the Lakers, who are ranked 27th against the position, so I expect him to go north of that value and possibly hit at least 7X.

Forwards

Luol Deng (LAL): $3,600 vs. SAC
I look for guys like Doug McDermott and DeMarre Carroll to be highly popular salary relief options tonight to squeeze in Boogie. I think Deng will go slightly overlooked here, even though he shouldn’t due to his projections (20.9 FD points) and his near-minimum price point. His matchup isn’t ideal, with the Kings being 7th-ranked against small forwards, but DvP isn’t the be-all-end-all stat. I would roll the dice on him here, especially in a GPP.

Julius Randle (LAL): $5,700 vs. SAC
In his three games back from injury, Randle has averaged nearly a fantasy point per minute. Be wary, though, Kevin Love is out tonight, so he might be very chalky. I could picture people flocking to Randle due to the matchup (SAC 22nd against power forwards), and his projected 29.4 points. Randle is hard to fade tonight at that value vs. matchup.

Centers

Robin Lopez (CHI): $4,800 vs. TOR
Depending on who is starting for the Bulls, I like RoLo here if you’re looking to avoid “BoogieChalk” and differentiate yourself at the center position. You know RoLo. He’s going to get you around 25-35 FD points in 25-40 minutes. He’s a decent punt in GPPs, but you might want to go ahead and swallow some chalk for cash games, depending on your risk tolerance.
