Tyler Bozak has an easy matchup tonight against the Stars

Good afternoon all, what a great day for hockey. Football is finally over, a champion crowned, and we can finally move on to a real sport. The NHL offers us an 11 game slate, with a ton of value plays. I will try and give you a cash game lineup you can try tonight in your 50/50 and Double-Up games on FanDuel. You can use the lineup as is, or change it up and make it your own. Also, tune in to SiriusXM Ch 87 tonight, as I am up for FSWA Hockey Writer Of The Year. Winners of each category will be announced starting at 8 pm. Tune in and see if I’m selected.

Center

Phillip Danault (MON) : $5,200 @ Colorado
Danault is a big reason for the current offensive burst of linemate Max Pacioretty. I am using him tonight as I think he gets us a goal and assists on two goals. With all the high-end plays tonight, I feel he will exceed value easily while saving some cap space.

Tyler Bozak (TOR) : $5,800 vs Dallas
Bozak gets to show his skill against a bad Stars team. I figure he will be on the ice while the defensive duo of Klingberg/Lindell are also on the ice. Why is this important? That pair has allowed 10 goals to be scored against them in the last 10 games. This Bodes well for Bozak and his linemates. Expect a goal and five shots with one assist.

Wing

Max Pacioretty (MON): $7,500 @ Colorado
Pacioretty is slowing becoming the Canadians MVP this season and my personal DFS MVP. Patches has four goals and an assist in his last five games and is averaging two shots per game in that span. He faces an Avalanche team that he has scored 15 points  (six goals / nine assists) against in 11 career games. History tends to tell us he should shine tonight. He will be one of my most owned players tonight.

Mikael Granlund (MIN) : $7,300 @ Winnipeg
Don’t be surprised if his ownership is high tonight. Why wouldn’t it be though? He just had a hat-trick in his last game and is on a 12 game point streak. Yeah, you read that right, an unexpected 12 game streak. In those 12 games, Granlund has five goals and 12 assists. Prior to this outbreak, he had 10 goals and 21 assists all year. I am going to board the Granlund express tonight and watch him manhandle the Jets. I can see a goal and an assist with four shots on net. Nice little cash game play.

Chris Kreider (NYR) : $6,400 vs Anaheim
Kreider is currently on a three-game goal scoring streak while also averaging three shots in each of those games. Although I am a big Gibson (G/Ana) fan, tonight Kreider will own him. The Ducks are not a great road team (11 wins in 28 games), and the Rangers will swarm them. Get in on Kreider and his linemates tonight. Very good GPP play as people will be on Gibson in net for the Ducks.

Jason Zucker (MIN) : $5,500 @ Winnipeg
Zucker happens to be Granlund’s linemate and has benefited in Granlund’s outbreak. With two goals and four assists(all four on Granlund goals, Zucker is a great pairing. He is often low owned as people target his other linemate in Mikko Koivu ($6,500). I like Zucker’s upside and feel he gives us a two-assist night with three shots on net.

Defense

P.K. Subban (NSH): $5,500 vs Vancouver
Normally I don’t pay up on defense, but Subban is worth it. His price has come down from his $6,800 to start the year. He has had only one assist in all of 2017, which will push people off him. Not me, though. Subban knows the Canucks from his time in Montreal. I see him getting a goal with two shots on net and three blocked shots. Fire him up and reap his 4% ownership rewards.

Dan Girardi (NYR): $3,300 vs Anaheim
Low cost, top pair defensive player, 2.5 blocked shot average in his last five. What more could you ask for from a guy priced so low? He needs just a shot and a blocked shot to hit value. Tonight I see him getting two shots, two blocked shots and an assist. I see 5x value at a 1x price. Plus he should help Kreider excel tonight.

Goalie

Ben Bishop (TB) : $8,500 vs Los Angeles
Some people will disagree with this pick, saying Big Ben is a GPP goalie at best. Normally I would agree. Bishop, however, is being shopped around and will display his elite skills to get a trade to a team he wants to play for. In his last start against the Kings, Big Ben stopped 31 of 32 shots in route to a win. I see the same type of game tonight. Don’t be surprised if Bishop leads all DFS goalies tonight.

That’s the lineup. Best of luck to everyone.
