DraftKings NBA Lineup Advice: Friday (3/10)

DraftKings NBA Lineup Advice: Friday (3/10)

I am still pumped up about NFL free agency. Although, as a Bears fan, I’m less pumped up and more fired up about how awful my favorite franchise has fared so far this offseason.

If you want to discuss NFL free agency, follow me and hit me up on Twitter (@chisportsnut25). If you want to discuss tonight’s eight-game NBA slate or any other NBA slate, hit me up there as well.

To make me feel better about my Bears’ shortcomings, I will turn to tonight’s NBA slate and look to make some money! Here is who I like tonight.

Just know with such a big slate, there are many ways to go. However, these guys stand out to me and will be the core guys I look to use tonight.

Point Guard

Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL): $10,100 vs. IND
Antetokounmpo has been playing well lately and will be going up against a Pacers defense that only has four players with a positive defensive real plus-minus. To top it off, only two of the four have a DRPM of over 1.00.

None of them should be covering Antetokounmpo often. In the two games against the Pacers this season, Antetokounmpo has averaged 55 DraftKings points. That is enough for cash game value, and he also has enough upside to be used in tournaments.

Ricky Rubio (MIN): $6,900 vs. GSW
I am going to have most of my point guard exposure between Rubio and Dennis Schroder. I think both have great matchups and will be good cash game options. I have been using Rubio often over the last few weeks.

With Zach LaVine out, Rubio has been able to put up solid fantasy points. He makes for a great cash game option and has had the upside lately for tournaments. He has reached 35 or more DraftKings points in nine of his last 10 games too.

He has not done well against the Warriors this season, but that should keep his ownership level lower and make him a better tournament option. Plus, the Warriors are 23rd in DVP against point guards the last four weeks.

Other options:

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal (WAS): $7,500 @ SAC
Beal is a great play for cash, but his price tag is a little high for him to hit value as a tournament option. For tournaments, I would look at Tony Snell for half the cost instead.

The last time he faced the Kings, he put up 47 DK points. The Kings are 27th in DVP against the shooting guard position over the last four weeks too.

Avery Bradley (BOS): $5,400 @ DEN
Bradley is starting to see his normal minutes and you should take advantage of that while his price remains low. At one point, Bradley was in the $8,000 range.

I prefer him for tournaments, but I think he has the peripheral stats to be used in cash games too. The matchup is fantastic as Denver is second to last in DVP against point guards.

Other options:

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler (CHI): $9,400 vs. HOU
I wish Dwyane Wade was not playing, but all indications point to him starting tonight. Either way, I think Butler is a great cash game option. His salary is too high for me in tournaments.

However, this game has the highest projected game total and the spread is less than five points. If the Bulls are going to stay in this one, it means Butler is playing well.

He has the floor for cash and the upside for tournaments. It will all come down to your roster construction.

Tony Snell (MIL): $3,800 vs. IND
Remember when I said that the Pacers do not have great defenders? Well the same will apply here for Tony Snell. Snell has seen a ton of minutes lately and is a great tournament option.

I do not trust him for cash games though. His floor could be under five points even though he plays over 25 minutes.

His ceiling though at this price is 9x value. I wouldn’t count on that, but I can easily see him in the 6x to 7x value range.

Other options:

Power Forward

Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN): $10,600 vs. GSW
I am deciding between Towns and Giannis Antetokounmpo for my higher priced guys. For cash I may not go with much exposure to either and just roster Jimmy Butler and more mid-range guys. I will have exposure to all three, I am just not sure of how much yet.

I always prefer Towns at home as he is averaging six more fantasy points at home versus on the road. He has averaged 47.1 DraftKings points against the Warriors in the previous two games. He is also on a role from a scoring standpoint.

He has scored 21 or more real points in each of his last 10 games. If you made me choose, I’d pick Towns over Antetokounmpo for higher exposure.

Draymond Green (GSW): $8,000 @ MIN
Green has been great for cash games lately. He has been consistent and that is important for your cash game lineups. Over the last six games, Green is averaging 41.3 DK points.

On top of that, he put up 35 DK points against the Timberwolves the last time these two teams met. He has been the more consistent option out of Golden State since Kevin Durant went down with his knee injury. Fire him up tonight in cash.

Other options:

Center

I like Nikola Jokic for cash and tournaments, but he is very questionable to play tonight. Keep an eye out for his status and if he plays, he is worth a look. If he does not play, Mason Plumlee is almost a lock.

Cody Zeller (CHA): $5,200 vs. ORL
Zeller is the cheap guy I plan on using. The matchup is a great one against the Magic. Over the last four weeks, Orlando is allowing 20 rebounds to the center position.

With Frank Kaminsky out, Zeller is a lock to see over 30 minutes. I will be using him in my cash lineups, but the upside is there for tournaments too. There are many ways to go at center, but I think you need to either decide to pay up here or go cheap.

Robin Lopez (CHI): $4,500 vs. HOU
I like Lopez more for tournaments, but I think you can use him in both. Lopez has seen an average of 32 minutes per game over his last three games. Just like I stated for Jimmy Butler, this is projected to be a high scoring game.

Lopez only need 22.5 DraftKings points for cash value and 27 DraftKings points for tournament value. I think he has a legit chance to hit the tournament value as the Rockets are in the bottom five for DVP against the center position the last four weeks. It will all come down to rebounds and throwing a dart at Lopez could pay off on tonight’s big slate.

Other options:

That does it for this Friday’s slate. Good luck tonight and hopefully you see plenty of green on your screen!
