FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Friday (3/10)

This lineup is meant for a tournament entry. I’m aiming for low-ownership by stacking the “wrong” games. Use at your own risk.

Point Guard

Isaiah Thomas (BOS): $9,200 @ DEN
Thomas may be the only player in this lineup that will have decent ownership as he gets a matchup with the second worst team in points allowed to opposing point guards. His sub-par game against the Warriors might keep his ownership down some, but I would expect him to be in the mid-20s in GPP ownership.

Kemba Walker (CHA): $8,400 vs ORL
This game has the second lowest over/under and has a less-than-desirable nine-point spread. Those Vegas odds should keep ownership down for Walker, but his last four games will still make him an appealing option. Over his last four, he has averaged over 40 FanDuel points. Tonight he gets a home game against a Magic team that is bottom six in FanDuel points allowed to point guards.

Shooting Guard

Seth Curry (DAL): $6,200 vs BKN
If you don’t know by now, I love to target the Nets “defense.” I put “defense” in quotes, because, let’s face it, they don’t play any, but with as bad as they are they still manage to keep games close allowing the opposing team’s stars to get a ton of fantasy points. Curry has hit at least four times value (four points per $1,000) over his last seven games, and in this matchup, he should be able to make it eight.

Sean Kilpatrick (BKN): @ DAL $4,200
As much as I love to target players going up against the Nets, I rarely target Net players, but that is changing tonight. Kilpatrick has three straight games with at least 30 FanDuel points and has increased his “real life” scoring in each of those last three games. On paper, the Mavericks look like a tough matchup for Kilpatrick as they only allow 36.4 to the shooting guard position, but those numbers are skewed by the pace in which the Mavericks play. The Nets will push the pace, and Kilpatrick should have no trouble getting over 25 FanDuel points in this game.

Small Forward

Harrison Barnes (DAL): $6,000 vs BKN
Barnes may be the riskiest player in this lineup. Barnes’ usage has gone down over the last few weeks as Dirk Nowitzki has started playing more minutes and taking more shots. Now that Nowitzki has reached his 30,000 career points milestone, I look for him to defer to Barnes a little more. It is the ultimate gut call, but I’m taking the chance with Barnes tonight.

Thabo Sefolosha (ATL): $3,900 vs TOR
Sefolosha has been one of my low-owned gems in two of his last three games, both times flirting with 30 FanDuel points. His price went up a little for tonight, but not too high that he becomes unplayable. The Raptors are middle of the pack in defending the small forward position, but with the volume of minutes Sefolosha is receiving, he should have no trouble giving you a good return on your investment.

Power Forward

Marvin Williams (CHA): $5,900 vs ORL
Frank Kaminsky has already been ruled out for this game, leaving Williams to pick up some of the slack. He has gone over 35 FanDuel points in two of his last three games, and as long he continues to get 35-plus minutes, Williams will stay on my radar until his price gets too high.

Gorgui Dieng (MIN): $5,600 vs GS
Just a few short games ago, Dieng was in danger of losing his starting position and was losing minutes to Nemanja Bjelica. He has really stepped it up over his last two, averaging a little over 30 FanDuel points in those games and playing 37 and 39 minutes, respectively. As long as he can stay out of foul trouble, which could be difficult if he has to guard Draymond Green, he can easily get a double-double tonight. The Warriors are struggling from the field lately, but they continue to shoot more than any other team in the league, meaning there should be rebound opportunities aplenty for Dieng.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN): $10,600 vs GS
If you read my articles regularly, either here on this site or on my site, you will know I rarely pay up for a center. Tonight is the exception. Towns has been a steady, if unspectacular, source of FanDuel points for weeks, with his last true dud coming on February 12. Towns is one of those rare big men that don’t have to leave the court when the Warriors go small, and if they try to go small with Towns on the floor, he will kill them on the boards. He boasts seven straight double-digit rebound games, and he should make it eight tonight.
