FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Thursday (3/30)
Welcome back to the FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice! We have five games in the NBA tonight. Check out my lineup advice below.
Tonight’s point projection totals:
BKN vs. DET – 212
CLE vs. CHI – 211
LAL vs. MIN – 219
LAC vs. PHX – 218
HOU vs. POR – 229
Ish Smith (DET): $5,300 vs. BKN
Smith has gained the starting role over Reggie Jackson (knee) who remains out and likely out for the season. What better matchup for the young point guard than a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets who allow the most fantasy points to opposing point guards while also allow the third most assists per game to opposing point guards averaging over nine per game. That’s a boost for Smith who is worth an add in season-long leagues for owners in need of assists.
Ricky Rubio (MIN): $7,700 vs. LAL
Rubio has really had the Lakers number this season averaging 14.5 points, 12.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 0.5 block per game this season versus this opponent. Rubio is a must-start in this game as the Wolves are not mathematically eliminated yet. Rubio faces the team that allows the most assists per game to opposing point guards with almost 10 per game this season.
James Harden (HOU): $12,400 at POR
Harden shouldn’t even be a question on whether or not to start this stud. The only thing slowing this player down is a minor wrist injury which held him to just 5-of-20 shooting in the previous game but posted yet another triple-double his 20th of the season. Disregard the wrist injury and get him in your lineups with Ryan Anderson still out. PLAY YOUR STUDS!
Lou Williams (HOU): $4,600 at POR
Williams has already played the Blazers three times this season but as a member of the Lakers. In the previous contest, Williams scored 31 points off the bench while adding five assists, three steals and three rebounds. In the two previous game before that, Williams scored 10 points in each game. Now in Houston, his scoring remains up and down but with Ryan Anderson out, expect Williams to get more opportunities.
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (DET): $4,700 vs BKN
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (BKN): $4,900 at DET
Hollis-Jefferson has really come into his own over the past five games averaging 10.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while holding onto the starting four spot alongside Brook Lopez. RHJ also does the little things picking up 1.4 steals and 1.4 assists over his last five games bringing his steals average to 1.0 steals per game this season. RHJ is a solid value play against the struggling Pistons.
Andrew Wiggins (MIN): $7,000 vs. LAL
Wiggins continues his best scoring season of his three-year career with 23.0 points per game this season. However, against the Lakers, Wiggins is averaging 41.5 points per game this season. Wiggins is also shooting a career-best 36 percent from three-point land while shooting 45 percent from the floor. Wiggins gets a matchup for the ages against the Lakers who allow the second most points scored to opposing small forwards and the second most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season.
Gorgui Dieng (MIN): $5,200 vs. LAL
Dieng faces the Lakers on Thursday who allow the most fantasy points per game to opposing four’s this season and allows the second most rebounds per game to opposing four’s this season. Dieng is in line for a solid game as he’s averaging 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game over his past five games. He’s also shooting 58 percent over his past five games so he’s worth a look at this price.
Nikola Mirotic (CHI): $5,200 vs. CLE
Mirotic has now scored 28 points in two of the past three games with 15 points in the middle game. Mirotic has been solid against the Cavaliers this season averaging 10.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in the three previous meetings. Now, Mirotic is the starting power forward and Dwayne Wade is out for the season so he’s a solid start in daily while his price tag doesn’t go way up.
Andre Drummond (DET) : $7,500 vs. BKN
Drummond gets one of the most favorable matchups on Thursday against the Nets and Brook Lopez. Drummond is recently coming off a solid performance against the Nets finishing with 13 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal. Drummond makes for an extremely solid play in this matchup and has at least 13 rebounds in each of his past seven games. One can easily substitute Jusuf Nurkic in here for the same price.
