FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Friday (3/3)

FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Friday (3/3)

The Kevin Durant injury sent a ripple-effect through the fantasy basketball world earlier this week when the Warriors found out he would miss at least the next four weeks, possibly more. Durant is arguably one of the top three players in the game and without his services, coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors will have to get creative to replace his elite-level production.

FanDuel enthusiasts are all-too familiar with that exercise; turning over every stone to find production at a low cost. It’s called value. The Warriors do not play on Friday night so we do not have to worry about the Durant conundrum. We do, however, have a healthy 10-game slate to consider. One that’s teeming with opportunity.

Below are some value plays to consider for Friday night’s FanDuel main slate.

Turn $55 into $100,000 in FanDuel’s NBA Epic Slam partner-arrow

Point Guard

Derrick Rose (NYK): $6,400 vs. PHI
There are 11 more expensive point guards on the Friday night docket than Rose. He put up 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists against the Magic on Wednesday and his minutes at point guard appear safe for now, although Ron Baker and Chasson Randle are nipping at his heels for more playing time. For the time being, Rose has tremendous value and this matchup against the Sixers, who are weak defending point guards, has him licking his chops. He’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists over his last four games.

Shooting Guard

Avery Bradley (BOS): $5,700 vs. LAL
Bradley missed a long stretch of the season and took his sweet time getting back into shape while the Celtics waited patiently for him. But his time is here and Bradley is ready to produce. Against the Lakers, a team that generally chooses not to play defense, he should have a field day. After registering 22 minutes on Wednesday he finished with 11 points and two rebounds in what was his second game back. He should see an uptick in minutes and production tonight.

Small Forward

Jae Crowder (BOS): $6,100 vs. LAL
Crowder torched the Cavaliers for 17 and 10 on Wednesday night and could post similar if not better numbers against a vastly inferior opponent in the Lakers, who are abysmal against small forwards. Crowder is averaging 14.0 points and 7.3 rebounds over his last four games and is playing nearly 32 minutes a game. He has a good chance to produce 30 or more FanDuel points tonight.

Power Forward

James Johnson (MIA): $6,000 vs. ORL
Since trading Serge Ibaka, the Magic have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing power forwards. Johnson scored 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists against the Sixers on Wednesday night, and he remains a key part of the Miami rotation coming off the bench, providing solid minutes at the four. He’s one of the main reasons the Heat are back in playoff contention, and this matchup against the Magic should give him an opportunity to continue that success.

Center

Pau Gasol (SA): $6,300 vs. NOP
Shame on everyone for thinking the Pelicans won the DeMarcus Cousins trade. They have won only one game since that deal and it came without Cousins in the lineup. Pistons center Andre Drummond ate the Pelicans for 13 points and 17 rebounds in that loss. In his last meeting against Cousins when he was still with the Kings, Gasol put up 24 points and seven rebounds to go along with two blocks. A lot has changed since that meeting back in November, but this still looks like a prime opportunity for you to pounce on a good value play in Gasol.
