Patches is set to have another useful game in DFS tonight

The NHL is in the brunt of their playoff race and we are treated with a nice large slate. Slates like this one allow for somewhat lower cash lines. I will give you a cash game lineup with an explanation of each player I choose. Feel free to use this lineup as is or change it up to make it your own.

Center

Sidney Crosby (PIT): $9,300 @ Buffalo
Fresh off his natural hat trick in his last game, Crosby is making an epic push for the NHL MVP. With Malkin already listed as out, more eyes will be on Sid. He gets to put his talents on display in Buffalo this evening. Sid will add to his season totals with a goal and two assists.

Brayden Point (TBL) (TBL) : $4,400 vs Arizona
Point has made a great impression on the Lightning coaching staff, so much so that he has moved up to the top line center. He has three goals and two assists in his last five contests and is gaining a lot of confidence. I see him getting in on a goal and an assist and easily surpassing value.

Wing

Nikita Kucherov (TBL) : $8,200 vs Arizona
No matter what team he is facing, it is tough to overlook Kucherov. He has more than shown he can handle the limelight and lead his team. He faces a Coyotes team that is on the second part of a back to back. I feel he will score us a goal and an assist, both on the powerplay; as well as six shots on net. Pairing him with Point will help us exceed value with the pair.

Max Pacioretty (MTL): $7,300 vs Detroit
With Montreal in the thick of a playoff run, Pacioretty is a big reason they are in this hunt. He has been held off the scoresheet in his last three games, and he looks to end that quiet streak against the Red Wings. He will get a goal and an assist with four shots on net. Patches has been my DFS gold player.

Jimmy Vesey (NYR): $3,400 @ New Jersey
After a great start to his NHL career, Vesey has come down to earth and the Rangers lineup. He will look to work his way back up the ranks and he will do that tonight. I see him with a goal and three shots while easily surpassing value.

Jake Guentzel (PIT): $4,900 @ Buffalo
Guentzel, like Point above; has gained a lot of trust with the coaching staff. Currently, on the top line with the NHL MVP candidate Crosby, Guentzel has delivered for us. He assisted on all three of Crosby goals in his last game and has been piling points on. Using him and Sid will give us a ton of upside tonight.

Defense

Shea Weber (MTL) : $5,600 vs Detroit
Weber was the big name brought into Montreal in the offseason and he has produced for the Habs. He has 16 goals on the season, with 11 of them coming on the powerplay. I see him getting us a powerplay goal tonight and assisting on a Pacioretty goal. Pairing the two will help push us over the cash line.

Marc Staal (NYR) : $3,000 @ New Jersey
One of three Staal brothers in the NHL, Marc is the forgotten one. At only 3k as a top pairing D-man, he is worth the risk in our lineup that is top heavy. He should get us a shot and two blocked shots while exceeding value.

Goalie

Corey Crawford (CHI): $8,900 vs Vancouver
Crawford is one of the hhigherpriced net minders on the slate tonight. He is currently on a small three-game winning streak, and he should stretch that to four tonight. He may not see a ton of shots, but he has a great chance at a shutout. I think he sees between 24-29 shots on net and gets us the win.
