FanDuel NBA Value Plays: (Monday 3/6)

Welcome to the Monday edition of the NBA FanDuel value plays. This article will focus on the 12 game main slate on FanDuel.  Be sure to pay attention to roster news throughout the day in case there are any more surprise value options that emerge. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite value options for tonight.

Point Guard

Ty Lawson (SAC): $4,600 at DEN
Lawson was inserted back into the starting lineup last night and had a solid game in a difficult matchup against the Jazz. Tonight he has a much better matchup in a huge up-tempo game against the Nuggets. Assuming Lawson remains in the starting lineup again tonight, he should be in a great spot to exceed value at this low salary.

Malcolm Brogdon (MIL): $5,000 at PHI
Brogdon has proved himself to be  the superior option to Matthew Dellavedova in the Bucks’ starting lineup. Over his last five games, he has averaged 25.72 FanDuel points and nearly 31 minutes. Tonight the Bucks have a great matchup against the 76ers, who have not been a good defensive team this season.

Shooting Guard

Gary Harris (DEN): $5,400 vs. SAC
Harris laid an egg on Saturday night with only 2.5 FanDuel points against the Hornets. I know it will be hard to go back to him again tonight, but I think you need to consider it. Before that game the other night, Harris was in pretty good form, averaging 28.2 FanDuel points in his previous six games. Tonight he has a much better matchup against the Kings, who have allowed the third-most FanDuel points to opposing shooting guards this season.

Rodney Hood (UTA): $4,200 vs. NO
Hood returned to the lineup last night against the Kings and scored 35.8 FanDuel points after missing the two previous games. When healthy, Hood has been a pretty consistent cash game option this season averaging 21.1 FanDuel points. Tonight he has a nice, up-tempo matchup against the Pelicans.

Small Forward

Terrence Ross (ORL): $4,500 vs. NYK
Ross had one down game last week, but in the other four games since he has played for the Magic, he has averaged 31.2 FanDuel points. Also, he has played at least 32 minutes in all five of his games. Tonight he has a solid matchup against Carmelo Anthony, who has not been a good defender over the course of his career.

Thabo Sefolosha (ATL): $3,700 vs. GSW
If you need a near minimum priced punt option at small forward tonight, consider using Thabo. Sefolosha is starting to see his minutes spike after returning from an injury that kept him out of the lineup for nine games. Over his past three games, he has played at least 31 minutes in each contest and has averaged 21.6 FanDuel points over that span, which we will definitely take at this salary.

Power Forward

Richaun Holmes (PHI): $4,500 vs. MIL
Jahlil Okafor is listed as doubtful tonight and if he is unable to suit up, Richaun is going to see all of the minutes he can handle. The 76ers are extremely thin in the frontcourt with the injuries to Joel Embiid and Okafor, so Holmes could very well see at least 30 minutes tonight. He’s going to be popular tonight, but that should not stop you from using him in all formats tonight at this salary.

Bobby Portis (CHI): $4,400 at DET
Ever since the bulls traded away Taj Gibson, Portis has been the primary beneficiary averaging 26.7 minutes over his last three games. The matchup is not great tonight against the Pistons, but he should be able to reach value at this salary tonight if he continues to see an increase in minutes.

Center

Bismack Biyombo (ORL): $3,500 vs. NYK
Biyombo entered the starting lineup yesterday since Nikola Vucevic sat out with a sore achilles. This resulted in Biyombo hitting 10X his salary with 35.5 FanDuel points in 34 minutes against the Wizards. I cannot predict that he will score 30 FanDuel points again if Vucevic misses another game, but there is no reason to believe he scores less than 20. Just make sure you check the status of Vucevic before you lock him into your lineup tonight.
